Description: The Vialta is not only a fully functional DVD player with excellent video and audio quality in its class, but this unit will also play MP3, VCD, JPEG and Kodak photo CDs. In addition, other bonuses include two-mic input karaoke and a built-in 56K modem for internet browsing. This unit is also equipped for firmware expansion with a smart card slot. This is one unconventional, but truly fun, DVD player to use.

When shopping for a DVD player, consumers now have so many options that it can get very confusing. If you are looking for something that can fufill a variety of viewing needs and that the whole family will enjoy using, consider the Vialta ViDVD player. Not only does it function as a traditional DVD player, with excellent video and audio quality (when compared to other major branded players in its price point), but can serve as the core of an entire home entertainment center with its ability to play MP3 encoded CDs, JPEG or Kodak Picture CDs, surf the web using your TV rather than a PC, and provide endless hours of fun with its two-mic karaoke system. Most of the time, electronic devices that try to "do-it-all" come up quite short. However, with the exception of lackluster internet graphics and some inconsistency when playing homemade VCDs, the Vialta succeeds well on all other fronts. The only feature lacking on this unit is a progressive scan output; an additional model containing this feature is to be released later this year. In conclusion, if you are looking for an excellent DVD player for under $300, you will be hard pressed to find one better with such extensive capabilities as the Vialta ViDVD.
