I noticed a lot of guys on here are using Zaino on their Vipers. I have never used it before. Is it worth trying and how does it compare to other waxes and polishes? Can it be used with my buffer?

i dont know how it compares, but the instructions tell you not to use zaino with an orbital. It wastes too much product doing that. Im sure SB can chime in here about other good waxes and such. His Black RT is flawless from the pictures i have seen.

my personal opinion about zaino is its works , good results, but i feel the product is over hyped. Its also a pain in the rear to get ahold of, availability is important to me. I will probably try Zymol, or Meguires and see how it stacks up. As far as their scratch remover, it doesnt work, at all, not on black anyway. just my :twocents:

Actually in all seriousness I've found that it produces the deepest shine ..Period.

I believe SnakeBitten's polish/wax of choice is Pinnacle. Check it out. It's probably what I'll move to once I use up the Zaino I have.

Zaino is pretty good...but I personally think that Zymol creates a much deeper appearance. Especially on darker colours.

Good waxes are a very subjective thing...

I tried Zaino and while it was good, I found the biggest benefit to be how long it lasted. I actually think other products produce more shine than zaino.

I also kinda thought it was a bitch to keep shiny - always having to apply this or that. Kinda "set aside a whole day or two for detailing your car" sort of thing.

I agree, use Pinnacle on your black or red.It's great stuff.Zaino is good but not like Pinnacle on blk.Plus easy to remove.

I polish by hand unless there are some scratches in the clear that need to be taken out. Then I use a buffer (not an orbital) about 1000-1200 rpm with a Meguiars machine polish. It works excellent combined with your favorite polish/swirl remover by hand. I don't think an orbital is really good for anything. I never use wax either. Since the car is not ever in bad weather, I will just stick with polish.

Yes, when using a buffer you have can take out inperfections a lot easier than by hand. Fine scratches from washing, dust, etc. can usually be removed very easily with a buffer. And some of them can also be removed by hand too. Especially since most vipers are not every day vehicles.

For clear coats that are not real scratched up, a foam pad on the buffer with a good machine polish takes everything out. For real bad scratched up areas, a wool pad can be used with a rubbing compound like 3M Perfect-It III. Then followed by the foam pad. Its the same process used after a car has been wetsanded and you want to bring the shine back to the clear coat.

Many guys I know prefer many different products when using a buffer. I use these because they were recomended to me by a friend that builds/restores custom cars and street rods.

It's not really a wax, but they offer a series of detailing products.
All I know is that the car definitely has a nice sheen to it after applying the Zaino. /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif

Winfbreaker thread, but oh well. I used the Zaino last year and it was a decent product. Very easy to apply and results were better than average. That being said, Snake Bitten got me to try Pinnacle and to me and many others who see the car routinely could tell a difference. Maybe not a huge difference, since my car was flawless to begin with /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif, but the Pinnacle leaves it with a more deep and smooth shine. Appears very wet in direct sun. :thumb:

RedSnake, I just ended up buying one of their kits HERE . You definetly want to make sure you get the Liquid Souveran Wax . The crystal mist is just like the Z6 ( i believe that is the zaino spray #). The other stuff is not really necessary, but hell it wasn't any more and it all came as a package, so I bought it.
