I wanted a convertible american muscle car. My only choices was the viper and the corvette. I was going to buy the corvette when my finances took a very positive turn and i could choose from any car on the market. I chose the viper due to it's exclusivity and agressive styling/design.

I got my RT/10 new in October 2000.

I wanted a roadster and I wanted side pipes. OH yeah I also had to have yellow. At the time my only option was a 94 or 95 RT, so I got a 95. Now that I want to add a GTS Im thinking graphite or sapphire, black is my third choice.

I was asked what kind of car I wanted. So I to Ldy to the Dodge dealership and showed her what a real muscle car looked like. Not the want to be car (Boxster) that she was driving.

I was in the process of restoring my '72 Vette. So many options when it comes to engines. Looking at the magazine articles, I'd probably spend $10-15K just to run 11s. And I'd still have a Vette, that needed a paintjob, interior, wheels, modern conveniences, etc. Some of these chevy and ford engines make good power, but the cars they put them in never seem to run the number. My '97 makes 500 hp and runs 12.0 1/4s at close to 120mph. Why NOT buy a viper?
I've still got my vette, but it just sits.

It has been my favorite car since i was 4 years old in 1989 when i saw it at the Detroit International Auto Show. I was so glad I was finally able to afford one this past year (yes I'm young, but found a good way to make money).

I use to eat, sleep, and breathe vipers my whole life! That is all anyone heard from me. I was a HUGE fan of the NBC show when it aired as well, and taped every episode. I went to all the viper days events and hung around all the viper guys in my earlier years.

When it all came down to it, I didn't know which one to get....(srt, or gts, or rt). Since I originally fell in love with the old styling I got the GTS. I drove both the SRT and the GTS on the day of my decision and i can say that i'm very happy with it. Now I gotta add lots more horsepower! I can't have my Trans Am whoopin' ass on my Viper!

The Viper was my 2nd dream car...

The RT/10 was almost too much to bear. Seeing pics of it upon release (in HS at the time) made me weak in the knees.

A few years later, actually seeing a GTS in person buckled those knees.

The ZR1 was my first real dream car. Timing and aspirations being what they are at the time I fell in love with the ZR1 in junior high. Took care of that dream a few years ago but the Viper was always an impossiblity.

Last year it became a possiblity and I didn't hesitate. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lusting after a car is easily more than half the enjoyment. Owning a car you truly truly dreamed of owning is an incredible experience.

Wanted one when the first concept pictures came out.

I love the styling, raw power and performance, the history behind the car, and the fact that it performes with the top dollar exotic cars for less than half the price. And still has exotic car status even though its a Dodge(which I am also a fan of).

I always wanted an old Mopar or Cobra to play around with.
Wasn't too comfortable with a 30 year old gas tank and fuel lines sitting in my garage and having to wrench on the thing every weekend to keep it running.

I had the cash available so I went for it.
Glad I made the right decision.

In 1989, when the revealed the original prototype. That car was so awesome looking that I knew immmediately that I was gonna own one. It took 10 years from that date, but it was worth the wait. I went with a Black 94 because I wanted side pipes, no windows, and A/C. I wanted my first Viper to be a true representation of the original design.

I remember when I was a kid and the viper first came out. Oh man, that car was sex on wheels. I would sit in the back of class and draw pictures of it over and over, hopeing that one day I would get to drive a viper of my own. About two years ago, I was looking around on Ebay, sort of dream shopping for cars. I was sort of playing the "what-if" game. "What car would I buy if I had X amount to spend..." Well I remember looking up the viper and thinking, "Wow, that would be bad ass to have, I wish I could affoard it" I was pretty fresh out of school so I was still living with that mentality of a college guy with no income to speak of, however, I had a pretty decent income and didn't even realize how much money I had been putting away. The "What-if game" became a reality. I started out with a 94 RT/10 that I bought from a local dealer. I loved the car. Man, that car was just a rush. My plan was to keep the viper pretty much forever but that plan was crushed when I drove a GTS 10 months later at my local dealership. The Final Edition was just so bad ass that I couldn't resist. Maybe it was the vents on the hood, maybe the sweet rear end, maybe it was that new car smell. I'm not sure what it was but the car was just calling me. I said I would never do it but I sold my RT for a Final Edition.

I bought it for the fuel economy and low monthly payments and insurance. Why else?

Wanted on since they came out. Then work, kids etc and didn't get serious again until 2001. friend talked me into the Vette, got a Z-06 but oh how I longed for the Viper. plus I got tired of passing myself 2 and 3 times a day in the Vette. So I found a Viper that was an unmolested superlow mileage garage queen and bought it. Now I am complete.........
