I'm just an amateur hack but I don't mind trying to answer your questions.

Some other experienced guys around here would be Dean, Hoosier Daddy, Mark Young, Smackie, Chuck, Janni & SoCal Rebel. Don't be pissed if I forgot and left anyone out.

What's on your mind?

OK Frank what does SARHD relate to? Shoot away Mojo, Frank is ready to talk as he has been running his 95 Viper in all kinds of track events and placed fairly well in all of them!!!

I ran at Moroso today. Damn rears have about 8,000,000 heat cycles on them and are like driving with stone wheels but still have plenty of tread left. Hate to dump them when there's still rubber left but I'm gonna have to.

Dunno what your question is but since you didn't ask one I thought I'd just mention how much my rear tires are sucking right now.

How many heat cycles before the hoosiers are junk?
I was thinking about getting some awhile back.
The replies in that thread indicated two or three.

I think you can get 6-7 before all the "good" is gone.

Smackie is correcto mundo, Erik is a great guy to chat with. He set up Mumford's car ------- do I need to say more. Da Big Woody has his ( Erik's ) mono-ball set-up on his GT1 that set the track record at Road Atlanta during the ARRC last year. Erik placed 5th in 2000 ( if I remember correctly ) in the Daytona 24hrs and was the first privateer car, so he has da credentials. If you want to know how to go fast and you are old, call me, I am a really fast Geritol Speedster.

Note; Hoosiers are very track specific. I have gotten 3 weekends often on a smooth track with good weather. Super hot, on an abrasive track, can whittle them away quickly.

You missed a great race with Woody and Archer. Me, Adelberg, Dearing, and Bregante were up in the TMS tower laughing our asses off at Bob's crazy overtaking move of the year into the tire-chicane. Then Woody showed us an F1-speed "stop and go" after that black flag. You would have been proud.

You also missed Rob Foster's dumbass pass of the year that ended up totalling his Comp Coupe and taking out Mike McCann's, as well.

Both McCann's were out at Road America after the debacle caused by Vette driver, Phil McClure. Mike McCann, Jim McCann, Bob Woodhouse...all wrecked...with Bob Woodhouse getting the worst of it.

Mike McCann lost a spindle and a quarter panel as far as I could tell in the incident at TMS this weekend. Rob Foster's CC is obliterated, but he walked away. It really is a testament to what is showing to be a very safe car.

IF CC's keep getting into bad wrecks will that not diminish the supply of these cars and effect the numbers of them raced. My thinking is this, if you wreck a vette, hundreds of thousands are out there to replace it, but a CC, not many were built. So what happens, when the cars keep getting totalled. I guess my question really is, will the CC's always be in plenty of supply to keep racing?

Tito, I have no idea what you are talking about. PVO told us on Saturday night that 55 will have been delivered this year. They are supporting the key racers with whatever they can. I don't doubt Rob Foster will get the next available CC should he want to buy a new one (which he might have to). The McCann's and Woodhouse were able rebuild theirs. I don't know of any CC totalled except for maybe Foster's this weekend.

my bad smackie. It "looked" like those cars were damaged beyond reasonable repairs. I thought with the limited supply of CC's the demand would evenutally be higher than the supply, and racers would have to look at racing with something different.
