for every day driving?

I am considering purchasing some Purner 18" wheels for my 1996 RT.... Since my Viper is Black... I am considering black anodized centers.

Anyone use these everyday?

I do. If memory serves, he makes a street wheel, race wheel, and drag wheel. You obviously want the street wheel. If you like the look of black center, go for it! Probably easier to keep clean.

Ive seen a couple cars who have the street wheel. Basically its the same as the race wheel but has better looking fasteners. Definitely the best bang for the buck. You cant be the price.

Lots of Vette guys run them. Do a search on the Corvette Forum and you will see lost with black centers.

Strong, light wheels and a good price.

They look sort of neat but i like the HRE's better.

He quoted me around $2,500 for a set of four. He sounded willing to negotiate if it was a cash sale, but we'll see, I am still considering my options.

That sounds pretty competetive. I got to say that i am still biased towards the HRE 547's though...

I think the wheels are WAY less than HRE's. But youre right, they dont look even close in quality.

I always thought Purners would be the way to go for the track (light and cheap)
and HRE are it for show (drop dead looks)
I guess the best thing to do is get both.

I also need rear tires. Since my 96 has the cast wheels (and are apparently not allowed on the track) I thought I might buy some 18" wheels since the 18" tires are so cheap right now?

I have a limited budget.... but a couple options possibly in my price range? I am leaning towards some 18" OEM wheels, cause I really don't have the $2,500 for the Purner wheels..... that's more than all the dinero in the Viper budget right now?
