I'm doing a nitrous system on my car this week, and I need to know how big of a shot I can safely run. I'm planning to do a 300hp direct port, and I think I'll need to kick up the fuel system a little. What's the limit, and what upgrades do I need to look at? Will the Sean Roe fuel pump booster do anything for me? BTR says 580rwhp is the max, but I'm not sure if I believe that. I think that may be his ploy to help sell propane. What do you guys think?

What setup are you using to supply the gasoline? Tapping off the intake
manifold? I would think the figure quoted by Tom is close, but if may not
take into account a setup with an extra fuel pump off the intake. Increasing
fuel pressure by route of a pump booster has to help some,- that approach is
generally accepted. I'm interested in your direct port, who's hooking
it up for you- Albert? What size jets for a 300 shot?

If you are going with a Direct Port System and think you are going to shoot a 300HP shot of nitrous on the stock pump wiht a booster, you better get ready to get a free look inside the block of your engine courtesy of flying connecting rods and shattered pistons. Most people who run such large shots depend on aftermarket high-volume fuel pumps. Aeromotive, SX, Paxton, etc, wtih the large -8 or -10 fuel line. Since you will only use this system while on the juice, you may want to add an extra fuel cell and create your own return system just for the Nitrous. Maybe Heffner, RSI, House of Speed, Hennessey, Albert can jump in here.

I'm no stranger to the inside of a Viper engine. Some of you know that I blasted my 01 to pieces with a 200 shot. Trying to avoid that situation here! lol I REALLY don't want to have to add a fuel cell! I may be limited to 200, huh? I don't plan to use the 300 much at all. I'm doing a progressive controller that should allow me to ramp it up to say 70%, which would be 210. It will be rather difficul to change the jets on the direct port, so I wanted to jet it at 300 so I could do 100% in the future when I change the fuel system, if I ever do. How does that sound? I'm pretty familiar with nitrous, but this system is going to be a LOT more complicated than anything I've seen, so I figured I'd ask the experts.

Why not add a propane bottle. It would get you close to where you want
to be, without adding a fuel cell. You could just add it to whatever nitrous
system you want, and you wouldn't have to worry about fuel pressure and race
gasoline. It doesn't puddle in the intake, and propane is cheap and just around the corner. You could even add it as a first stage 200shot, and draw off the intake fuel tap for a 2nd stage 100shot - to get your total 300hp.

I'm doing direct port, so puddling won't be a problem, and I'm doing a single stage progressive kit, not dual stage. I just never liked the thought of having a funky looking BBQ grill tank in the back of my ride.

I've got everything worked out. I'm just not sure about the fuel situation. It's not rocket science. The shop that is doing the work is doing everything at cost. I talked to Albert C. and he told me I was getting a hell of a deal.
