typically convertibles are heavier than the coupe versions...is this true for the viper?

And that is because, generally, the coupe is designed first, then, to make a convertible version, they cut the top but have to reinforce everything to make the body stiff enough, thus adding weight.

The Viper was designed as a roadster. To make a coupe, a roof was added making it heavier.

The Viper is one of the few instances where the coupe version is MORE expensive than the roadster version.

Cap, yes that's what I have read over and over again the reinforcement of the structure..I was wondering if that applied to the rt. I did not know that about the coupe.....thanks for the education. THANKS FOR THE INFO EVERYONE.
