Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

Okay I finally got a site put up, after several hours, to show some videos of POCONOS. The quality stinks! They look great on the camera & viewing on TV but transferring to the web loses alot. Sorry no sound on the in car camera's, it was too distorted from wind. I'll have to get a better mic I guess! Here's the link. Hope it works for you!

Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

Thanks...I enjoyed it.

Flame 2 was nice with the big flames shot. Is it me or does it look like either your front end is lifting a bit or that wing is pushing the rear down. Do you have a front splitter?

Flame 3 is not working.

I think your Viper is VERY VERY VERY cool. Very well done visually.

Works perfect!!

Great video. I love the speedo shot. The TT really pulls from 80 mph to 140 mph.

That looks like a blast.
Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

I got flame 3 working. Yes, I just noticed that, on the straights, the way the car really sqauts. I don't know if it's from the power going down or my wing at full downforce position. It's adjustable & I had it all the way for msot downforce. And yes I do have a huge front splitter on it. Also side splitters. The car really handled incrediblly!
Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

Wow! those videos bring back memories of the very first ViperDays event we went to back in 97. Going into turns 1 and 2 are a blast and are angled steeper than I think people realize. Going around those turns 2 wide at 130-140 got us a hand slap back then.

That Video set-up is top notch  and adding the sound would be icing on the cake. Car looks and performs beautiful. You no doubt had a great day!

Thanks for the post!

Very cool video - how do you get all those camera angles? Any chance of seeing that video with sound? Nice work Jamie!
Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

The speedo camera angle is great. How did you do that??
Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

I have 4 mini cameras mounted in various places in the car which route into a digital multiplex 160GB hard drive. It records all 4 cameras & then on playback you can full screen/zoom any camera you want if you want. I do have sound but like I said it's all wind noise & distortion. The mics very sensitive & is great at low volume but not good at high. I'll have to figure something else out hopefully before the next event!

That is awesome. What components did you use and how much is the whole 4 camera setup cost wise? I run DV cams in my car when running road courses, but it sounds like your set up is even better! Also, how much video can it record? What res were you running?

Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

The whole setup was around $1400.00. The video I posted doesn't do it justice for quality. I record at high quality which gives me about 6 hours of real time. The camera's each had a 4mm lens on but I'm getting stronger ones to test out for closer footage. Not sure of the rez. After hard drive recording then I can record from it onto any format I want and any amount/kind of footage I want. Pretty trick setup. I thought maybe the hard drive might crash but proved it didn't by going in those twisty's pretty hard!
Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

Is all the video time stamped for easy syncro? Where did you get this package, or did you build it yourself?
Re: Video link to Venom1000TT Pocono\'s Run

If you mean stamped like with SMPTE time code or the sort no it is not. It is stamped with day & time for easy search. I put it together myself with alot of the components from Super Circuits. Basically a digital hard drive recorder which includes the splitter, ( I think a DMR5 or something like that ), 4 mini 12v camera's & the cables. Pretty easy to do!

Jamie - I would be interested in getting a system like yours and I would bet that others would too.
