I just read this on a V10 Ram board:

Some Guy Named Mike said:
I just had lunch with some Chrysler people from Detroit last week, and they assured me that the V10 will be back in 2005. they never expected such a backlash from owners when they found out the engine was gone.

they are working on improving the mileage, and adding more horsepower (!) and torque.I didn't realize this before, but this engine is extremely popular in very cold climates, where the diesel doesn't do well in cold starts.

Chrysler will finally have medium duty trucks available in 2005, and the new V10 will be the base engine for the medium duties.

Actually, the BLOCK is the same as a Gen I Viper, except that it's iron instead of aluminum. The ECU is the same, too. Other than that, they're totally different.

Which is irrelevant. This 2005 version is an all-new engine. The orientation is towing and torque, not speed.

This thread belongs in The Garage, not in the SRT-10 Ram forum.
