well, one thing for sure. if the weather doesnt do something amazing and good to racing, we'll be running at peak heat hours. hope its not gonna be another topeka.

However, People wnated to have a night on the town and there is no way to help the schedule on Wednesday as people attending VOI will need to have the extra time for travel.
I would prefer to run Wednesday Night and go for the good weather but I am trying not to exclude anyone.
Budaman; listen oldtimer; you may fly thousands of miles, you may persevere hurricanes but ill not miss a race for any old reason. you just have that viper ready and that tequila crave ready cause we got some racing to do and then we got some drinking to do
dont you worry, ill be there and hopefully ill be the next one to leave you sleeping at the tree/images/graemlins/drive (SW has been teaching me /images/graemlins/toothy )

David ..... a number of people in the Florida camp as well as other camps have asked if there is any way to back up the main event on Wednesday later in the day, maybe late morning(10:00-11:00) open gates, then test and tune. So that way we are running the main events in the evening, thus cooler and we will see lower times. Hopefully this would not be an issue because of the private rental and hopefully the owners of the track would understand and work with us.
The first day running during the the day on Pilots is helpful because we need Heat in the track to help get the VHT to stick to the Pilots.
I know in or camp the reason we are driving and trailering thousands of miles is to drag race. If we can get a few thousands off our times ...it is a very big deal to us. VIO is secondary to the drag racing and Casino's are thirdly(???) to drag racing. Although we would like to do all.
But if it was NOT FOR US COMING TO THE V-10 NATIONALS.... WE WOULD NOT BE COMING AT ALL.
I can not speak for any other of the camps only for the Florida's camp.
well put ward. i can speak for the Ohio camp (since im usually the entire damn camp /images/graemlins/toothy ) and I agree.
drag racing is first
everytrhing else is second
if backing the event up so as to take advantage of possibly cooler temps is doable, lets do it. if you need any help in doing this im sure youd not have a lack of help; myself and everyone else who takes the v10 nats seriously would help in a seocnds notice.
plus, on a side note; itd be better if we did do the finals at night so wards tears of defeat by the mighty V10 MOJO would be less discernable /images/graemlins/toothy /images/graemlins/drive
What about flip flopping the racing, doing the big racing tuesday night and then street tire racing Wednesday day, so that those that are going to VOI can saddle up and leave before dark????

might be hard to back up the times only because some need to leave to get to the VOI and set up booths etc.
I know that you mentioned the VOI but still put in my 2 nickles

The only issue w/ the main event on Tues is that it means we don't get tues as a practice day. I don't know about most of y'all, but I don't get much practice and would welcome a full day of relatively low-keyed test & tune w/ the street tire thing and the drag radial thing both being that day. Main event should definitely be the last day, in my opinion, even if it means running during the day and not in the evening.
Also, those who are driving through the night to get there for Tue (let us not forget that Monday is labor day and some of us have 2 day trips to get there) could use a day of low-keyed racing.
i think too many are forgetting what we're going to shreveport for; DRAG RACING. if it interferes with your family time, casino time, VOI time or any other time than perhaps you shouldnt be coming. I am not intending to be offensive here but damn, lets just use these two days to our fullest advantage and get the best damn times we can get outta this track during those two days (and evenings) if time permits.
i myself normally race at least once per week, however ive not had the car out of the garage since National trails raceway three weeks ago and ive made some performance changes, so im definitely going to want to practice and do some quality T&T
I haven't been to the track in FOREVER! Hell, I don't even drive my car much. I'd like to knock the dust off a bit before I actually compete.
