nice numbers! i wonder what treynor will counter with....
damn thats not safe at all sitting on the back of that car.....that is quite stupid if you ask me!
The car is not about to go anywhere.

Worst that could happen is it would blow a rear tire and smack one of them.

Or a half shaft takes a shit and spits out.

Or the rear explodes.

Or............

Nice numbers anyway.

Nice work.

They are on their to add weight and increase traction or else the rear wheels will just go up in smoke.

Is this much hp usable?

The one thing I have noticed is that one can have 650 or 1000 hp and you are still in the 10's.

It just seems more attention should be placed on weight reduction or suspension, but I guess with the independent the car is somewhat limited.
Is something not coming through, I saw a red Viper on a dyno but no actual sheet w/ numbers. I am not disputing the numbers but is their a dyno slip with the photo.
Is this the same Viper that was at the Shot out Sunday at River City. If this is the same Viper it ran a 9.9 or 9.8 qtr before something went wrong and they were unable to finish the day.
Hi Rohn, nice runs on your car at the track. Here are the dyno sheets:

http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hennesseyperformance/Dyno.php

The car made 1123 rw hp actual (1092 rw hp sae) on 10 psi and a 150 shot.

It made 933 rw hp actual (907 rw hp sae) on 10 psi boost alone.

Yesterday it ran 10.1 @ 144 and 10.01 @ 146 on boost only. We got a 9.8 @ 148 on NOS and had a problem, so we shut it down for the day. Will check it out today and try to get it back to the track again soon. Hopefully with the auto trans.

that is fucking insane John!
John
I was looking forward to the finals w/ the red car in the center of the pack. Their will always be one more race to run and that is a good thing.

Thanks
Rohn
Holy shit those are crazy numbers!
Is he 1123hp Viper the car that ran the [email protected](the time in your signature)?
Wow thats almost 160 just in the quarter mile, how insane!
There is no reliability, making horsepower is easy it just takes money making it reliable take a lot more.

The engine and driveline are not made for that kind of HP.

Good numbers John.
The car that ran 9.52 @ 156 was never dyno'd on nos, but I will guess it was making 1000-1050 rw hp. We think the 1123 rw hp Venom TT will run 158.

We have found both of these cars to be very reliable. The 156 mph car was driven 300 miles round trip to the track one time and ran 9.8 @ 156 that nite. I drove the 1123 rw hp car about 350 miles the nite before we dyno'd it so it would have a few break in miles on it.

The motors seem very durable even at 1000+ rw hp. The stock head gaskets and head bolts are near their limit at 1100 rw hp. We lost a head gasket at the track on Sunday, but its already fixed. Outside of that the entire motor, transmission, clutch, halfshafts, etc have been rock solid.

Based upon the 907 sae rw hp we got on 10 psi of boost (no nos), I think 1000+ rw hp without nos is very possible.

Enough of the dyno queen contest. We plan to get to the track soon and see what it will do.

John
Here's an add that John has not told you guys.

Scott flew in from New York to drive the car and had NEVER driven a turbo car before. His first runs in the 10's were done without the nitrous and still trying to learn how to drive a GTS on slicks.

Remember, Scott is the one who broke the first 9 second pass in Mark Heidecker's 9SecRT. Two completely different Monsters. A turbo car does not launch like a NA car on juice.

So, give the credit where it is due. The numbers are there for some seerious low 9's and high 8's passes. Give it some time and I think we will all find out that the turbos are the way to go.

I have seen the powerglide install and it is SWEET.
David

I noticed your signature says you have the fastest street legal GTS? You coming to the V-10 nationals to back that up? We are having a street tire only class. as well as plenty of mod level classes.

Oh shit....I think thats a dare!
David,

I would love to be there. If I can get my brother to trailer the car up and I fly, then it may be a possibility. I am back at school now finishing up my FAA A&P Certification. Unfortunately the FAA regulates our class time and any time missed is not excused. Since my classes run from 5pm til midnight, I would expect it difficult for me to attend the event with any success.

However, the Viper in question has run the 10.21 pass in front of numerous Houston witnesses and backed it up repeatedly within the 10.4 range. The 10.2 pass was a freak pass because it was the only one in where I powershifted the car down the track. I was also trying to get down to the end as fast as I could. Not just for racing reason but to get out of the car!! During the launch of that run, the car hooked so hard that the large 1500 watt Amp that was mounted on the rear deck broke loose. It fell on one of my bottles, breaking the brass fitting off. The entire time I was injecting nitrous into the car it was also fogging up the inside of the car!!

With a serious fear of the unknown blowing loose in the rear of the car, I just drove a bit harder than I normally do and the ET surprised us all.

Consequently the car is 100% street legal and still had full Cats when that run was made. The tires were not drag radials but BFG KDs. I would LOVE to run the street tire class and I have inquired about time off from school but it just is not possible. If the event was local, I would go. I just cannot make the distance and participate in the event no matter how much I would love to be there.

From seeing your car run, there is no doubt you should be the top finisher.

Best of Luck!!
