For any of you guys in or close to southeastern Louisiana, a group of us have rented the road course at No Problem raceway http://www.noproblemraceway.com/npr/ for Saturday, September 6. The track is located about an hour from New Orleans. We currently have 10 or 11 vipers committed at this time. We plan on having a maximum of 21 cars (three run groups @ 7 cars per). Also for those of you with drag racing interest, the night before, there will be a street drag event at NPR's NHRA track. We are not involved with the drag event and I'm not sure what their rules regarding roll bars etc. are. If you are interested in participating in the drag event you should check with track representatives.

From the tone set on this board, it seems like some of you guys might actually be interested in hammering on your cars on a road course. If that's true, and you're close to this area and interested, you can contact me for more info.

I have been meaning to do one of the Porsche driving event they have there, but have not.

Is this going to be instructed or not?

Going to check the NHRA rules as well. I don't think they are as flexible as IHRA.

I am certainly interested.

John,

We are still considering instructors. It really depends on the number of drivers who will need instruction. We are still discussing it at this time. Bobby Archer has expressed interest in coming down with his whole rig, so we might try to enlist his services in that area. Any thoughts are appreciated. BTW, when I talked to you at Bowling Green, didn't you mention that you had been to this track before?

I have Roe oval cats, muffler delete, smooth tubes/filters, roller rockers, MGW shifter, magnecor wires, and some really cool seat belt sleevey things so CB's shoulder doesn't get chaffed when she goes topless.

ps - and a set of 18 inch drag radials for the strip.

I am involved in this with Clayton. We are going to limit the number of cars to 21. That will give us 3 heats. Only 7 cars can be on the track at one time due to insurance.

I think the fee is going to be around $100 per driver. We are working up all the cost of the event and basically we are going to split it up between us.

Clayton does AWESOME work on vipers. He has one in the shop now that tried to eat a tree and he has done a great job making it better then new.

Makaha, I was not at that event. I just got my Viper a month ago. If the weather behaves today, we are going to Gulfport to run the strip...want to come?

The cost per car is going to be $100.00 for the track rental portion only. We will have instructors for those less experienced and looking for instruction, but we have not finalized the costs yet. Food service and any other services if we want them will be an additional charge.

As mentioned before, Bobby Archer will likely come down and if the participation is high, he is willing to bring his whole rig with equipment, spares, tire changing service etc.

Right now we are planning on having Bobby Archer give an instruction seminar in combination with in car instruction with our local instructors.

In order to participate, you will need to pre-register. After the total 21 slots are filled we will accept stand-by registration which would allow participation if someone has to cancel.

If you are interested I can be contacted by email
