Took an SRT for a cruise last night... (pic)

One of our members came over in his SRT last night... He is not an email or online kind of guy - so no issue with him seeing this...

Lou is a great guy - he is now tired of taking on cars - and says he likes to single out bikes instead - they're more of a challenge... Anyways, again, he is a great guy - has had some vettes in his life - but now has an SRT...

The SRTs were staring to grow on me - seeing some of them around and down at viper-versus-viper... So, took it for a cruise last night - no offense - I wasn't really impressed... I thought that I would be able to realize a significant difference - but I didn't compared to my 02 rt...

Again - this is just my two cents - but I didn't feel that anyone really noticed when I was cruising in it - I think it blends in too much... Besides the fact that it is EXTREMELY quiet... I think the front looks very mean - but the back end looks like an after thought... And my god - when I saw that I could fit about a 12-pack in the size of that trunk - yikes... The convert takes up everything - and no spare...

So, this weekend, Lou is going to stop back over - looks like we'll be doing a little work to the exhaust to make it sound the way it should... And he is also looking very seriously at getting it supercharged...

All in all - I didn't get that same unique feeling as when I am in a Gen II... It seemed very "family like" to me... I did like the seats much more than the GEN II's - and the electric pedal adjustment - oh, and popping the hood, the engine definately looks more serious... The back brakes put mine to shame - and you can definately feel the difference...

Anyways, we'll get his SRT looking and sounding mean very soon... I'll keep you updated...

Hey, your RT makes that vette look like shit! lol... Kidding aside, both cars look good. Have you thought about chroming your Startechs? I have only seen the Startechs chromed on a Saphire RT. Looked pretty good though.

Austin
I have really warmed up to the SRT. Was really turned off at the start. Came up on one on the highway...looks mean from the rearend. Still like the look of the Z06 to the SRT though...but not by much. Both kick ass cars.
Glen...I barked it in first through third, ran her up to around 140 on Hwy 77 and Lou didn't even blink...What a guy...Maybe he can build me a shop!
Austin - my car is graphite - and the polished look is what I want on that - matches... Chrome would look awesome on a black or a GTS - but not mine...

Gerald - yeah - it had some snort - but I just didn't get any warm fuzzies when hammering on it... Thought I was in my Durango (kidding)...

Anyways, I am glad I didn't get any warm fuzzies - then I would be looking to get one of those... I will settle for a graphite ACR with silver stripes any day!

Aren't you supposed to be working on my car...?!
I am doing laundry...then I'm off to your house...
There are a couple bottle of polish in the cabinet as well... :repuke:

Hey, I talked to John this morning, I might be able to cut the CATs on the SRT Saturday morning - prior to me meeting for the cruise and winning that Viper jacket...

I'll try and arrange it with Lou - and then just take his sills off at my place - and drive it over...

PS - Your Durango is louder than that SRT! We'll fix that... :arcade:
