... because after 3 days of truly shitty weather, the weekend absolutely KICKS ASS! Not a cloud in the sky, lows in the upper 40's, highs in the low 70's and low humidity. I spent a few hours over at River City Raceway (now renamed San Antonio Raceway) this afternoon. The Grand Prix/Grand Am club had the track today, but the track owner let me take the GTS out after their deal was done and before the normal Saturday night crowd showed up. I clicked off a 12.26 @ 118.6 at 4 in the afternoon with 30 psi in the tires and a sucky 2.08 60'. It's really a shame that everyone couldn't get past the Hennessey bashing and just show up and run.

I've got some paving do do at the track this week in advance of the IHRA National event scheduled next weekend. I hope it dries up enough that my paver doesn't sink. Wish me luck...

It does suck. I think alot of the other tuners were scared to show up.

RSI hates Hennessey, but scared of glide car if it was able to run in unlimited.

TNT can't even get into the 9's anymore. They are too busy swapping motors in and out of cars

It's a shame that everyone can just man up and go run at one event. VOI is too far away for another drag event.

I have heard that there is another event next month, but I have heard that it may not let some people run. What a joke.

We're getting a new 1/8th mile Drag Strip here in Abilene. 700' concrete strip with 90' concrete burn-out area.

I've got my race car ready to go and since Big Country Dodge is the track sponsor, I'll be making the inaugural pass in my Viper. That's kind of cool!

I dont know why RCR changed the name of the track. The new name sounds too much like the other track we have in SA.

I dont know anyone that calls is the new name though. I guess it will always be River City Raceway to the regulars.

I bet if someone with less "baggage" stepped up to the plate you'd have something you could sell - clearly there was an interest by people for such an event.

The event next month (March 28-30) in the National Supra Event and some Viper's/Vette's have been invited to participate in the Autocross on Saturday and Drags at River City on Sunday.
