You may remember that I won one of our monthly contests, sponsored by George at MGW.

He shipped the stuff out to me quickly, but the weather has been so crappy I haven't had the chance to get the Viper out to put the goodies in.

Well, today was finally a nice day so I decided to work on my hood alignment (failed to resolve) and install the MGW goodies.

Before:

Since I already have the short-throw piece for the shifter, now I have an ultra short throw!

MGW's work is top notch and easy to install. Thanks MGW!

Very nice looking additions.

Maybe a silly question, ... but why is there a hole as such in the lid on the ashtray? (The prongs are not long enough to pull the lid off and use it for a divot tool. /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif ?)

Sorry to highjack, but I have the MGW shift knob and a B&M Ripper Shifter, yet my shifter sits almost as high as the stock POS. I'm waiting to win the adapter in the give away in the site supporters section to see if that makes a difference.

Any other ideas?

Rich Detert's shorter shaft?? Just an idea. /images/graemlins/smiles
I think that's the same thing as the give away so I'll wait and see, Say-er of Coin-er of Coin-er of Coin-er... /images/graemlins/laughing.gif

I have talked to Rich about his gizmo though, and will buy one if I don't win the give away. I just don't understand why mine didn't go down with the install of the B&M and the MGW??

All I did was swap knobs and my shifter is low. It actually can go lower.

Something seems wrong. I have the B&M Ripper shifter and Embossed MGW shift knob, and my shifter is nearly as low as the pictures that FUSCUCLA1 and RUNNR provided.

When you thread the shift knob onto the post, you should have nearly a 2 inch range of threads to set the shifter height. Maybe you just didn't screw it on far down enough before you tightened the set screws? Or maybe your shaft threads are misthreaded so that it got stuck at the topmost part of the thread range?

Thanks for the input guys. I had a reknown Viper tech in Dallas put everything in for me so I assumed it would be right, and I had to have a friend pick it up so I didn't see it until I drove it home on a Sunday. I'll give him a call...

Well, Today an unbelievable Viper Tech from Dallas came to West Texas, drove 5 hours to do a 1 hour job, and fixed my shifter that, as shown above was too, too tall. Here's a pic...
