On 10-26 SVS finally made the trip to the dragstrip to enter into Viper 1/4 competition. :burn:

Originally built for going to the Bonneville Salt Flats, we knew the SVS Stryker had a weight disadvantage at the dragstrip. Weighing in at 3650 lbs. dry weight and 3925 lbs w/ driver and fuel we had about a 200 lb disadvantage over the stock GTS weight of 3445 lbs.

Being a rookie dragracer I had to overcome some anxiety as doing everything right at the line happens very quick. On the third run things came together and I was hooked. Now the only thing to overcome is wondering when it will happen again, and going faster.

We had the same engine as we used at the Sandhills 1 mile shootout, except we upped the boost to 10psi. We went immediately to the 2 speed auto trans so we could go after the 8 second barrier.

The track temps were 37 degrees on 10-26 and from what I'm told around 60-70 degree track temps are ideal. It always seems like you get what you get when you go racing and then there's all those varibles that make you think about what might have been. Win or lose thats racing :thumb:

We beat the record of 9.66 by .25, not alot but quite substantial in drag racing. Im sure I have another .1 just in my launch. Take 200 lbs out of the Stryker and bump up the boost to 15 psi on a 60-70 degree day and we will see what we can get.

Thanks to all who supported us and can't wait to drum up some more excitement.

Yunior

(We have the fuel pump solid mounted to the frame and the harmonics are terrible. It will be changed by the next time we compete. Imagine how quiet the car is if you take away that awful buzzing. Oh well thats what a test R+D vehicle is for.)
Enjoy! :thumb:

Congrats Jr. It's nice to see that the top 2 quickest Vipers run twin turbos and auto transmissions. When we ran 9.3, 9.2 and eventually 8.9 last Spring, some people were not sure what to think about Vipers with auto transmissions. Now your efforts just go to show everyone else that if they want to compete at the quickest levels, they need to step up and innovate.

Jr. - I will give you your due on the quickest Viper ET for no NOS for now. Our goals earlier in the year were 2 fold: 8 sec. ET and world's quickest Viper period. We attained both of those goals just as it began to get hot in Texas in May. Now that it has cooled off here and now that you are proving to offer some competition, we will certainly focus some effort to going quicker and faster without NOS.

Please bring your TT/auto to the Texas V10 Nationals on Dec. 7 and we will gladly run you heads up, no NOS. That would be a great show for everyone.

Thanks John for giving us our due. Since you do hold the all out record for the quickest Viper, I still must bow down to the KING ........for now. :thumb: Knowing your tenacity you will come back strong, and I'm quite sure other systems are joining the party. Hopefully I can get a little more practice in.

Dec. 7th is something I cannot confirm at this time. We seriously planned to go to Norwalk and our plans fell apart. We don't have the resources like we did when we used to run in the Viperdays series. Remember the bus? gone with a long list of other things. Trying to get in order and build our resources. I drive a piece of crap jeep liberty /images/graemlins/greddy.gif /images/graemlins/frown.gif and I'm trying to get a SRT-4 :thumb:.

I love the idea of being a part of a great show for everyone. Maybe you could come up here this weekend and run at Byron? Not sure if it is going to rain though? If things go well for sure we will meet somewhere.

/images/graemlins/frown.gif If you are looking to crash my thread again with another "lets race" and Junior is the chicken shit latter of the two. Then you can pick many of the icons below that would suit my response. As you have stated "Junior and the Patriot SCUD" deserves their respect. And if you don't give me a chance to speak freely I will find it much harder to build my resources to eventually race against you.

Okay.....you talked up your car a lot on the other thread...having seen the video........I am not that impressed. I mean come on, thats a FUCKING RACE CAR!
No gauges in the mounts, smoke coming into the car through the trans tunnel on the burnout, one hell-of-a damn annoying fuel pump, and a 2 speed powerglide. Now how the hell would I drive something like that on the street. Ohh yeah....I COULDN'T! I would get laughed at going to a club or a formal party in that thing.
I want to see something I could drive almost every day w/ a six speed running nines w/ no nos. Heffner has done it. I wanna see if someone else can as well.

You seem to miss the point. Im not going to sell you our racecar, R+D car, test car whatever you wish to call it. The same things that we have learned from our test car is going into the Vipers we are working on now. Whats funny is our set up will be so quiet and driveable that you could drive it to the academy awards if you wanted to. And then leave with your awards and beat everything on the road.

When you go to the showroom to buy your new car do you think they sell you their R+D car. They sell you what they learned from their R+D. And the companies that usually have put the most money into R+D have the best product.

I'm not really sure what your motives are ROLLMODEL but you can easily go over to Jason Heffner and get the system he offers and be happy with it. From what I hear he has raving fans with systems that perform very well. I would love to have you as a customer but it seems that you have been trying to cut my balls off and seemed to be on the side of Jason Heffner way before any of this.

Go over on Jason Heffners thread and talk it up. I mean if you believe that this is a raceccar and your not impressed, then it seems your decision has already been made.

I wish you all the luck with whatever system you chose.

I was not trying to "Cut Your Balls Off". I was just dissapointed that it was pretty much an all out race car that accomplished this feat.....as most of us viper owners do not own such a car or drive such a car.....I guess i'm looking for a more real world answer to the nine second dilema.

I am not trying to cut you guys down...I'd give you guys a cyber pat on the back instead. Dont take it too rough though...I guess I'm just trying to start some good gritty competition between all you top tuners so I can pick the absolute best system! I have leaned towards Heffner, but as you can see, I'm also very interested in John's stuff as well. I'm just looking for reasons to take SVS into the equation for my quest of horsepower.

So, I am gonna ask you this again.....what is up with the 1700hp kit you advertise on the website? (not that I'd ever want to drive that much hp) But i'm just curious? I would deffinately take you into consideration, especially if it was a more real world car that you were making all these records with. And the best part of it all....you guys are so damn close! I could drive my car over there and drive it back for some "break-in miles" when it's finished.

I may have to just hold off for the winter though as it looks like the competition is heating up and more and more advancements are gonna be made in the next coming months (if it's worth doing you might as well wait and do it right, especially with the 30-60k this TT Setup is gonna cost me). Now can ya see why I get on all you guys......Heff doesn't really post, so I havn't been able to get on his ass at all. :bonk: But trust me....it's all for the best intentions to all of you big tuners out there. I'm trying to get some good grudge matches between the three of you, possibly four if DLM every starts talking about the one they have supposedly been testing. With so few of these systems in circulation out there it's hard to compare anything. I've never heard about an SVS car beating a Hennessey car on the street, or Visa Versa. I want to sit back and see what is gonna be the best once the check is cut.

No hard feelings. Good luck wrenching! :thumb:

These are the reasons why I enjoy racing! Very Happy you guys were entertained. More to come :burn:

I'm so looking forward to next season and being able to help some of our customers that are road racers. Man I want to give everything I know away to them so they can become the best they can be. Racing and taking the glory doesnt even come close to giving it away and watching someone prosper.

Well, I must say I am happy to see you guys finally stopped stroking yourselves off on the net and took a few hours to actually race. Your 9.41 is great, but why go to the AUTO ? It makes me think that you are scared of the 6 speed. 9.41 is not that great with an auto. I know it is no NOS...... I guess I'm just glad you guys started somewhere. All NOS users, or turbo's all run 9.40's to 9.50's with 6 speeds. You guys keep up the good work, stepping up to the plate may finally get you some packages sold.
