subwoofer

The factory subwoofer sucks in my car. Replaced it with JL Audio years back and still no good. Any experience with compact under the seat units?

What size sub you running now and what is the low and high cut off frequencies set at?
Underseat subwoofer has worked really well for me, in combo with upgraded speakers all around. Used a kenwood underseat sun and it’s more than enough for my needs. The thing that also really helps is having ability to tune your crossover frequencies so you can maximize sound quality from each speaker.
The subwoofer choice depends on how annoying you want to be to other drivers.

Also location matters is it at passanger feet? If so just get a dual coil 4ohm and it’s own amp.

frequency is based on your music choice and sub size but typically somewhere send between 50 to 200 hz with a 12db per octave. Match the cutout for the
Mids and up.

subs work best on their own amp and then the mids work better by cutting out the lows. I also always cut the mids a little higher than the pass through for the sub
Just to be clear I would not buy 8”s

10s should cut out around 200
12’s is the best option with about a 160 below going to the subs. And 200 up to the mids.

if you don’t like the sound decrease the 12db per octave on the mids to 8db then lower the 200mhz for a fuller sounds or increase the hertz if the clarity is not there and leave it at 12 or higher
Yes people say “fuller” in audio… or at least they did at one time.

I assume a RT 10? If a GTS then I'm really happy with my set-up. I'm not a huge bass person so I did go with a single 8 but as 2001GTS mentioned a 10 or 12 would be much better and wouldn't take up much more room.

I originally had 2 8's on the sides (another reason I landed on an 8 in the middle as I didn't want to buy more speakers) and it sounded good but I think I blocked off to much of the interior exhaust vents as my rear hatch glass came lose, over time. After having to clean that off and re-glue it, I decided not to risk it again as that was a major PITA to get done right.

Nice looking work there but 1 question?

Golf clubs? Front seat?
Life is far simpler without golf clubs. There's plenty of room for booze, guns and ammo back there.

Top picture is how it is now. Bonus is I have hidden compartments now as I wanted the back to be flat all the way across.

I miss golf. Was a scratch golfer till my kids were born. Haven't touched a club in 10 years. Just no time.
In my Gen 3, I out Infinity REF 6522EX in the doors, and the bass punches way harder than the sub. They are 3 ohm, so very efficient.
