stuck in the driveway!!!

Is there a purge valve or something to get the air bubble out of my hydraulic clutch? I posted 2 weeks ago about my clutch with 28k having no play all of the sudden and today, I could not get the car in reverese to get out of the driveway? Is my clutch gone, or the linkage broken, or something else before I take it to the dealer? If my clutch is gone, how much for a new one, and how much about do you figure the labor is? Any suggestions to try before I take it in would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks!!

:stuckindrivewayman:, is reverse the only gear it won't go into? What about first? Who's on second?

If you have to change the clutch, get yourself an aluminum flywheel. As for the cost, I couldn't tell you. But I don't think you are talking big bucks.

Good luck
I can go into every gear, but it doesn't go in very easily, and reverse will work, but it will grind before it engages. It shifts, but hard to put into each gear without trying to hard
I assume you have checked the fluid level? I will assume that the clutch is pressed right to the floor? Is there a carpet bunching up?
Could that be a bent shifter fork or synchros?
Is your clutch pedal really loose? I ask because mine was.... and I had difficulty getting the trans to shift into first and reverse....

As it turned out... the pedal bushing had become dislodged.... and the round end of the pedal was "out of round".

It is amazing the tight tolerance allowed before the clutch does not disengage properly. I installed a new pedal with a new bushing..... and everything is A OK now.

Good Luck
My Dad let's me drive in the driveway. I'm an excellent driver ... definitely an excellent driver.
There is a bleeder valve above the hose fitting on the bell-housing. Real simple, have someone in the car depress the pedal as you open the valve. If the air is near the clutch/master cylinder it may take several depress/open cycles to get the air out, if that is the problem.

Correct, but make sure the level is kept up! Very little fluid in the reserve. I believe the manual states you should only bleed twice and then pump quickly 30 times.

If this is a gen I car you're talking about, then you could have a bent clutch support. David Weaver at Maxwell Dodge suspects that I may be having that problem. Shifting not yet a problem, but the Nuetral safety switch just won't cooperate.
