15 RW HP.

HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE: THE AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM AND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM ON THE 2003 VIPER SRT10 BOTH BREATHE VERY WELL. THEY BREATHE MUCH BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS GEN 1 & GEN 2 MOTORS THAT WOULD BOTH EASILY GAIN 15 RW HP FROM A GOOD AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM AND 15 RW HP FOR A GEN 2 EXHAUST OR UP TO 30 RW HP FOR A GEN 1 CATBACK.

SO AFTER WORKING HARD ON JOHN MYRICKS 2003 VIPER SRT10 FOR THE LAST 2 DAYS, I AM PRETTY PLEASED WITH A 15 RW HP GAIN. AND I FEEL THAT THIS IS ABOUT THE TOTAL UPSIDE ON THIS CAR FOR AN AIR INDUCTION AND CATBACK EXHAUST UPGRADE. WILL POST DYNO SHEETS LATER WHEN I GET A CHANCE.

HERE IS A VIDEO CLIP OF THE SRT10 ON THE DYNO - IT SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD:

HEADERS ARE NEXT. THERE IS NO FREE OR EASY HP TO BE GAINED ON THE GEN 3 THUS FAR.

HERE IS THE ENTIRE STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVED FROM THE CAR:

THE BENDS ARE ALL NICE 2.5 IN. MANDREL BENT STAINLESS. THE TOTAL WEIGHT FOR THE STOCK SYSTEM AFT OF THE CATS IS 59 LBS. I DONT HAVE A FINAL PRODUCTION WEIGHT FOR OUR SRT CATBACK EXHAUST UPGRADE, BUT I WILL ESTIMATE IT AT ABOUT HALF THAT. SO A NET WEIGHT SAVINGS OF ABOUT 30 LBS. IN ADDITION TO A POWER GAIN OF ABOUT 10 RW HP.

ALSO, THE AIR INDUCTION UPGRADE SEEMED TO WORK BETTER WITH THE EXHAUST UPGRADE, RATHER THAN JUST BY ITSELF.

Jerome, we tested straight out the side. Wanted to get a best case, lowest restriction case possible, with stock cats in place. Certainly there are a number of exhaust design possibilities. But at this point, keeping stock cats in place, any mod aft of the cat will only have a total upside of 10 rw hp. Any other kind of design changes would have a greater effect on exhaust sound rather than power gained.
