If SnakeBitten reads this he's gonna YELL...
But, for anyone that changed their RT/10 rear speaker, how did you remove the speaker grill and replace the single speaker? I remember reading that you do NOT need to remove the console and the job is pretty straightforward (easy). Kindly explain as if I were Chuck (2 Vipers). /images/graemlins/supergrin.gif

Aren't teh screws that hold the speaker/glovebox dealie behind the seats. I think you have to remove that big-ass piece. If not try this:

Get a very small screw driver and pryout the grill from the plastic enclosement. After the grill has been removed, the screws(4) will be exposed and taking out the speaker is straight forward from there. I just replaced all three speakers with Infinity's and love the sound, 100% better :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

How much were the Infinity speakers, and what models?

There ya go!
That's what I recall reading. The grill is not secured in place by anything other than it's own "flex". Thank You 96!

Love ya Chuck! :thumb: ;)

Dude, I am such a cheap bastard, you wouldn't believe me. I got them on Ebay new(ref6000cs and ref652). The 6000 set had one bad speaker(used the good one in the center) and the 652 was listed as only having one speaker in the box(but I got the full set). Total cost was $55 shipped. Here's the best part, I sold the rest of the component set on Ebay(tweeters and grills) for $30 plus shipping, so my end cost of the upgrade was $25 :thumb: :thumb: They sound sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better, plus the original center speaker was completely blown. Can't beat that with a stick!
