I went out to the local casino tonight to grab some grub. I had the viper out for tech inspection tonight prior to racing tomorrow. Well, I decide to have the valet park my car so that it doesn't get dinged up.. Fucking valet drives the front of my car over one of those concrete stops in a parking spot. When i get my car none of them bother to tell me about this of course.. so I am heading home, stop to get gas and being the paranoid fucker that I am, I look underneath to see massive paint carnage on my freshly repainted front fascia! :pissed:
I immediately whip the car around and filed a report with the casino. The supervisor and I even walked out to where the car was parked and of course there is paint transfer all over the top of the concrete parking stop. After them trying to play off like the fresh scratches might have already been there.. I was just under my car less than 2 hours before. Assholes. I gotta talk to the admin office of the casino on monday for compensation.. Like fuck am i gonna pull that fascia off again. They can pay to pull it and get it resprayed. I'm done venting.. what a shitty way to end an evening.

No flame RK and this sucks for you but.. why on earth would you give your keys to some stupid ass valet????

I drove my Murci to dinner the other night and the valets came to my window "get in and point out a good space in front my friend" was all I said to him. Gave him $20 to "keep an eye on it" and everything was cool.

Used to do the same with the Viper...

I park in Valet areas but park it myself. I will give an extra $$ if they let me park up front, I have never thought of letting a stranger park my car. Many Valets have never driven a stick and if they have it has been very minimal.

Man! I used to park cars to pay toward tuition at Bradley U.! No Whey I'd ever give my Viper to a Valet! Where was your head bro? Like Cherm, I'd provide a slide of $20 and Park it myself.

I've seen two Vipers wrecked by valets -- one at the Golden Mushroom in Southfield, MI and another at Beverly Center in LA. In both cases the cars were seriously damaged because the young drivers lost control. No way am I going to let one of those punks touch my Viper keys!

Sorry to hear that man. Ugh.

Last year when racing in Las Vegas, I let the Hard Rock valte park my truck (which had a trailer and my viper on it.) Should have seen the look on their faces -- they never did that. I pointed exactly where I wanted it and watch them drive it over the 50 feet or so to the spot large enough to hold the truck and trailer. That was the night the stupid Valets (whom I paid well to keep an eye on it) let somebody climb up on the trailer, into my viper (gen I with plastic windows) and steal everything out of it that wasn't bolted in. /images/graemlins/sad

At least it was a complete stranger. I let my buddy drive my Viper... with a recently re-painted fascia..... to the hardware store..... He hit a parking curb and put nice yellow paint all over my black fascia....

It's kind of sad... because he WAS a good friend....

What the hell is the Golden Mushroom? Some bar that sells psychidelic shrooms? I thought I knew all the clubs in the Detroit area or is this a restaurant?

Sorry to hear that Roadkill.

I've had valet guys park my Viper twice, but both times I waited around and watched them park the car, and both times they left it right out front.
So it was fine.

I almost always avoid valet parking because I have scary, nightmare visions of Ferris Bueller's Day off where the Valet gets airborne in the cool Ferrari.

The worst that I got was that when I came out for the car there was some teenage valet fascinated with the door handle, pressing the button, over and over again to open the door.

Not too bad really, but I'm still generally avoiding valets whenever possible.

The Golden Mushroom was a very upscale restaurant, but it was just torn down for the construction of a CVS Drug Store. So much for upscale . . .

Talked to the admin of the Casino today.. Seems like they should fix it without any fuss.. Gonna go get some estimates. I did tape the conversation just in case things go awry down the road with em though.

Dude,

I completely understand.

It scares the shit out of me to put someone in my $20,000.00 car. /images/graemlins/laughing.gif I get all fidgitee throughout dinner and I just know that the guys are out having pictures taken in my car and such.

After all, there are only 311 Fairway Green Corvettes in the world. So comparatively speaking, I have one of the Rarest cars on this site.

So put THAT in your pipe and smoke it. /images/graemlins/smoker

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I STOPPED valeting my car a few years ago when I went to the ESPN Zone in Baltimore with a 2000 Mercedes E55. I dropped it off and went inside for some dinner and fun. I get the car back and same as you drive to get gas and notice the back bumper all fucked up. I also put my Rolex and rings in the trunk before I went in. I looked in the trunk and all of the stuff ... GONE. I went back reported it and 1 week later ALL of my jewelry was in a Pawn shop in Baltimore and I had the Valet company repaint the car. NOW no one drives my cars. I even pay the valet fee and park it myself in the front spots.

Good Luck.
