not too bad, took about an hour once everything was set in. i initially made this out of galvanized steel b/c thats what i had layin around but im going back to get some aluminum sheets and am going to make another one this weekend. im going to polish out the aluminum and the rivets and then put a viper sticker or a sneeky pete logo on the top of it. should look real nice then! anyhow, i posted about this the other day and just said fug it and made one instead of buyin one.

edit: heres the link to the pics, the airbox.jpgs in the center of the page.

on a side note, i picked up a raw piece of aluminum yesterday. im redoing the plate fixing all the flaws and then polishing it out. i also bought a steel gray emblem to put on the plate. i should have it done today.

Go with the Green filters rather than the K&Ns... If you look around the edge of the K&N filter you will see the black rubber that makes up the gasket around the perimeter at the ends actually coats atleast .25" on the 2 ends...This is .25" less of surface area for getting air in... Green filters have a different manufacturing process that does not have this restriction.

Look at this picture of the K&N and look around the edges. Eye balling it looks like around 10% reduction in surface area.

Here is the Green Air filters page...check out the edges on these.

I am no expert and haven't seen any comparisons through dyno results but it is an interesting case.

san antonio.

you?

btw, nice color /images/graemlins/smiles

as far as the filters go, i figured everyone went with k&n so i just bought those. every sig on the site has k&ns in them. anything is better than whats coming out. the factory filters look as if theyve never been changed.
