What does a repaint do to the value of a viper? Would it make a difference if the car was repainted the same color just to restore it, or what if the car was repainted a different color?

I think the main reason paint would affect resale is the reason behind the paint work. Majority of the time if the car was repainted same color as factory it means that there was a major accident preceding the work.

Repainting another color would knock off about 10K in resale, painting the same color would knock off about 5K (just my guess)... painting to restore wouldn't hurt the value, but Vipers are not that old yet. Personally I would never buy a Viper that was repainted another color and if it was repainted I would really need to know the reason and it better look as good as original.
