Anyone remember why the 5 point harness was recalled in ACR's and GTS-Rs? I got my new ones from Tator, but am wondering if the originals can be sent in for reconditioning or if there is a serious defect that makes them unworthy.

It was found that the metal retainers (or whatever they're called) could not stand up to the loads required to meet the next year's certification requirements.

That is, in a wreck, the metal loops that tighten the belts could deform to the point of failure. It was not the belt material itself. I just went with a set of TeamTechs rather than wait and deal with whatever crap DC replaced them with.

I got the new ones too, but left the old ones in the car. I just think they look better!
