I just purchased a 2002 final edition with 780 miles on it, when I shift around 4000 rpm, I get a clunk from the rear of the car. It happens when I push in the clutch and again when I let it out. It is quite loud and I am concerned that something is not quite right...any ideas
ps
carmen, I have no idea what it is. But through the jokes, etc. spray probably knows. He's pretty knowledgeable, you just gotta beat it outa hime like his avatar.
If you are speaking of the "clunk" between 45-60 MPH.it is not only common but nessesary. With these cars unlike most, they require an extra amount of gear lash, (the clunk). If the lash is not set up just right your gears wont last.
I could also be , tranny mount , motor mount , half shaft joint , bad half shaft , or other drive train free play . Have your Viper tech put it on the rack and check it out , if it really is excessive. (With 780 miles on the clock, most of these parts should not be worn) Spray!!!!!!!!!!
