Hi, new to the forum and Vipers. I'm going to go look at a 2002 RT/10 this weekend but it is out of State and I want to be as prepared as possible. The Dealer states that there is a rear clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side under acceleration on warm days. They say it is isn't there if it is less than 65 degrees out or so. After reading a lot of posts I'm hoping its just in need of new diff fluid but not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Dealer should just sell the car to someone in Alaska.

Dealer has a lift and trained Chrysler technicians. They should be able to definitively ID the problem and quote you a price to fix, or a discount for as-is sale. The Viper is an incredibly simple car.

Just over 38,000. I did buy it and drove it home about 400 miles and didn't hear anything but they were all highway miles. I've only heard it once and it was at very low speed and a bad shift on my part into 1st.
