Ran the street drags/ Autocross this last weekend

Had Pretty good luck with the street drags.. only thing out there that beat me was a 11 sec nova. next closest was a low 13 pickup.. Lots of rice that got spanked :thumb:
Autocross didn't go as well.. Really tight course that favors the lil imports. Rare I was able to get it out of 1st. The only consolation was that I was able to beat a '99 vette that was in SS with me. I'm thinking of seeing about tightening the shocks up. Anyone know of a somewhat aggressive specs for the alignment? I don't want to burn through tires too badly when not on the track.

drag shot of a GT getting spanked
You were allowed to run topless and with a passenger? Cool!
that track kicks ass for letting you run with a passenger!
No helmuts ?? Thats a First !

Love to see GT's get spanked /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cheers

Just pull the sport shims and try running in second gear.
What was your best time in the 1/4?
adjust front shocks (I assume yours are stock) all the way. do rears about a half turn.

add eiboch springs in front, cut stock rear springs one inch, delrin bushings, and energy suspension mounts, top off with neg one degree camber alignment per side and go kick ass in both drag and roadcourse!

The track runs a "street legal drags" event. Where if your car is street legal, you get to run. Passengers allowed, no helmets required, no top required. I think they get away with this because the races are not timed in any way. There is still an ambulance crew on site. Makes the event a load of fun though being able to take a passenger. Last weekend, I brought my girl out for the first time drag racing.. She had an absolute blast and got to feel the adrenaline rush. I actually prefer this style of racing of car vs car grudge matches. I've been doing a lot better on take off's The first set I went to, I couldn't get the back end to hook up, then I'd have to play catch up in the quarter to see if i could beat the other cars. For the autocross though, Do you guys recommend any alignment specs that i can hand the tech? or just try the firming up on the shocks/remove shims for time being?

Do the eibach springs drop the car? I've already got terrible problems with heading into driveways.. another inch off the clearance and I may be taking off the front fascia on my next driveway.. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
What shop is a good source for the delrin bushings/energy susp mounts? Does the neg 1 degree camber alignment chew up tires fast?

-align setting is not much worse than norm on tire wear.
-yes eibochs drop the bucket an inch and believe me its aesthetically worth it!
-delrin and energy suspension from Roe racing; easy install

BTW; sharp car roadkill
