Article in Car and Driver June 2004 about RSI SRT 700 S/C Viper. Good article and at a very good price. The article says that traction was hard to find with all the HP.

"Here was our first thought after planting the right pedal in Racing Solutions 690-HP modified Dodge Viper, Yoweee!"

opposite page is an article about the Comp Coup saying it is the next best thing to being airborne.

Congrats to RSI for building another smile on another satisfied customers face.

Re: Racing Solutions Viper RSI7000

Thanks again to RSI for the plug on the Venom 600 that ran identical acceleration numbers almost a year ago. We appreciate RSI mentioning our product in the story. Thanks again Gerald and Jason.

Both Gerald and Jason were asked and said by all means plug brother John. The person writing the article asked if they were sure and they said that John would appreciate any bones tossed his way so the article went to print. Now lets see how the favor is returned............ 8 months ago or just over 1/2 year.
The article said that the HMS car supposedly had 600HP and they think your real numbers were closer to what RSI car produces. Whats up with that John, reported some wrong HP numbers??????? Best to under report HP, you know what happens when you slip by 1HP.

by the way, what are you doing here today, you have 5 Kids, its mothers day and you are posting.
have a good day

GREAT WRITE UP FOR RSI BIG AND LITTLE E AKA THE TEXAS SOPRANOS ACCORDING TO LARRY WEBSTER OF CAR AND DRIVER.ROHN.... THE ARTICLE STATES......"ALTHOUGH THESE NUMBERS ARE CERTAINLY STRONG,THEYRE ABOUT EQUAL TO WHAT HENNSEY'S MODIFIED VIPER RAN (OCTOBER 2003).THAT CAR SUPPOSEDLY HAD 600 HORSEPOWER,AND WE THINK THATS PROBABLY CLOSER TO WHAT THE RSI PRODUCES."IM NOT TAKING SIDES JUST STATING WHAT THE ARTICLE STATED.ROHN IM GETTING THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT U ARE GETTING.THEY ARE SAYING THE HORSEPOWER NUMBERS FOR RSI ARE A BIT OPTIMISTIC AND IN THIER OPINION ARE CLOSER TO HMS 600 HORSEPOWER NUMBER WHEN THEY TESTED THAT ONE.REGARDLES OF WHATS WHAT ITS STILL A FAST SNAKE AND IM PROUD TO KNOW OUR HOME TOWN BOYS ARE DOING GOOD.NOW IF THEY COULD ONLY GET THE ALL MOTOR TITLE BACK. :dance:LOL NORM K

You could be right after all we both have spent to much with other tuners (wrong or right) to question Car and Driver knowing that they can't be wrong, could they?
Then if it is as you take it, either car running 600HP or 700HP are the same. Same in HP, TQ. etc and xzy correct? I like it where they say that the RSI vipers rifle-blast acceleration are seductive. If it was overstated then it is all that much better.

Norm, no one can ever say that the Viper had to be towed for the photo shoot. The Viper was running great and very dependable on that day in March, still is, pretty good huh?.

Thinking about the all motor, its a lonely class all motor. One car, 2 at best.

Gerald
They do have plenty of extremely satisfied customers. Last count they had over 14 Vipers and several other cars becoming RSI-asized. (supersized, johnny boy)

Happy Mothers day to any of you Mothers out there

Re: Racing Solutions Viper RSI7000

RSI-assized, that pretty much says it all.

Rohn - John Myrick can tell you about his heads/cam 550 rw hp SRT10 Venom 600 that Car and Driver tested last year.

Rohn - will you be wearing the cheerleader dress at next month's smack down? Be sure to tell Big/Little E. not to bring a knife to a gun fight this time around and that they dont allow 500-shot direct ports either.

you have never been one to not speak, you tell them.

Yes cheer-leading I will go, just me. RSI can only hope to collect all the cheer leaders that group around you, especially after all that Good press.

Knife to a gun fight and what spectacular things did you accomplish at the event. /images/graemlins/laughing.gif

7000 HP / 700 HP / 690 HP or 600 HP or whatever...

Pretty funny post title considering the fact that the car doesn't make the claimed power. At first read you notice that the RSI700 doesn't quite make 700 HP, then with a little more reading you see that Car&Driver didn't even think it made the advertised 690 HP.

Rohn, I guess since the RSI700 didn't make the advertised power you might as well claim something bigger. Yea 7,000 HP that's the ticket.

yea John, what ever and you know for a FACT that it does not make the power?

Typically JHM crap, nothing good to say unless it is inflating his own bird, ego.

edit:
John M. when did you down grade your car from the 650R to the 600 or was that a mistake in your post. The one where you talk about your upcoming mag. article where your car the 650R will do a 10.76 at 132 on real street tires, great numbers, congrats.

Going by what the C&D article stated, the RSI car seemed short on power. It states that the RSI claim is 690 HP. At a minimum they state that the car does not make the power a reasonable person would assume given the name of the package - RSI700.

My car is currently badged as a Venom 650R. That is a small (~522 inches or so) stroker motor package that made 585-590 rwhp on a couple of different dynos. That package ran the 10.76 sec quarter mile on the stock tires for the MotorTrend Dec 2003 article.

A few months earlier, before the stroker motor, the car was badged as a Venom 600R. That was a heads/cam/intake/exhaust/high flow cats, etc... package that Car&Driver tested and reported on in the October 2003 issue. That package made ~550 rwhp as Hennessey mentioned above. That is the package that the current C&D article mentions when they compare the RSI700 Viper performance to the Hennessey Venom 600R performance.

John
what ever you say
I noticed that you changed yours from a 650R to a Ven 600, you adjusted yours down?, why are you that reasonable person.

John, no, just the luck of the draw, bad place to park. The right words at the right time, funny one liner. LOL, damn birds anyway
have a great day
