That's not OEM.

Anywho, they're only $100 each. But regardless, nice fix, that probably took $300 of time lol.

I'm a project manager. I build things with other people's money.

Total time I charge for =

* The time spent thinking about it

* The time spent designing it

* The time spent procuring materials

* The time spent setting up

* The time spent fabricating and installing

* The time spent for take down and clean up

You still want me to believe that took just 30 minutes? lol

What if he thought of it while taking a shit? Would he get a discount for that?

I charge for shit time. You pay for everything brah.

Not trying to distract from the fact it was a good inexpensive "fix," but I always add the value of my time in when pursuing modified used parts versus just replacing with new. This one works when you have time and no money. Or at least no desire to spend it lol.

You think I could take the used set I pulled off, modify them, and sell them as near mint?

I think you could sell them as improved, version 2.0, updated, competition version, track tested, approved by,and indorsed by.

On my winter wish list fix was to repair the weak hood springs that lost some of their tension over the years. I really didn't want to spend $260.00 + for a new set so I came up with a quick fix......for now.
Not bad....I was trying to wind-up my spring another 180*.

I don't have hood sag....My hood won't stay up AT ALL.

How much tension is on the spring in the full open position? I can wiggle off my spring easily with my hands when the hinge is up/extended.

Well, now if someone would just post a 5 minute ******* fix for the door stay open spring thingy. Was getting out of the car today and when closing the door it sounded change hitting the concrete. Like, WT... thought for a minute... looked and saw nothing... and realized that inside the hinge cover was going to be a broken spring thingy.

DIY coming next week :D

I think in your case the springs are junk. My springs still had tension to almost hold up the hood, just needed a little extra tension.

The doors are supposed to stay open? Is that a GEN2 feature? Mine flop like a YJ Wrangler.
