Hey everyone! Im new here. I currently am looking for a 1993-1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 to purchase. I was jsut wondering a few things.

Could some of you give me some reviews on these model years...
Any problems or recalls known for these models...
Good names for performance modifications (Im looking mainly for Exhaust and suspension, dont need to make it any faster right now)
Any stock dyno numbers for the model years in question.
Maintnance wise, what is the usual expense for upkeep on these vehicles (I only plan on really driving it in the spring summer and fall, but when I drive I really drive hard!)
Anything that I should look at or look for when purchasing a used Viper.

Baiscally jsut the overall opinion of the model years in question and any other useful information that could help me out when looking for my Viper.

I really appreciate the responses!

Head gasket problems occurred some with those models, but to my understanding, not to the overblown extent some make it out to be.

Dyno #s should be in the high ~300s stock, e.g., 380ish?

Maintenance can be pricey due to the costs of the tires, the Viper "tax" for getting service done, and for the price of the oil (Mobil 1).

I have 18X10 inch Wheels with Michelin Pilot Sports on my Camaro, and I use Mobil 1 oil already... so those arent that big of a deal... What about this head gasket problem... how much does that usually cost to fix?

Hey all you MD guys!

Maryland happens to be a hotbed of Viper activity due to Heffner's Performance being located near Baltimore. Some of the world's fastest Vipers are there (including mine). If you have any questions, email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to answer your questions.

Hey whats up Buschman!! Yeah I hang out with Danny (with the 02 WS6 SOM) and Eric (97 White Cobra) and BIlly (Green 95 GT that spews oil profusely)

What are you doin on this board? No anyone that wants to buy my Camaro

Im FastlaneLPZ28 over on Racersden and EFA...

I found a couple 93-94 Vipers for sale in the low 30's, which is right where I wanna spend. The only thing Im worried about is if the Head Gaskets have been replaced on them or not, they all have around 20-30 thousand miles... not too bad

Hey I think I've seen you over on EFA. I don't go to RD. I dig Vipers just like you. That's why I came over here. Plus I like shooting videos and Vipers are fun to shoot. Where have you looked so far? There's a place down in Florida, I beleive, that sells nothing but Vipers. Gives you a good idea of what they are going for. I'm sure someone here will know the place I'm talking about.

Yeah I know those guys. I know Billy. I filmed him in OC and we've hung out several times. Danny and I are really good friends. Are you a student at UM or just live there? You must have a killer job to be able to go to school and afford even a used Viper. Clue me in /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good luck man. Just FYI, Joe and I do the wildtimes videos, if you want bring your Z or your Viper out and get crazy on camera ;)

buschman, I thought they quit making firehawks? Something about them squalling vettes that stop production. I don't know the pontiac line, but I have heard they are terribly fast.

They stopped all F-Body(Firebirds and Camaros) production in 2002. Firehawks as well /images/graemlins/frown.gif I've heard rumors of them bring the F-Body back, but that's all they are is rumors. I'm just hoping they don't do the typical GM trick of reusing a car name on a far inferior car(ie, impala, monte carlo, SS, etc). But hey I got the last of the breed, so I'm happy.

The Hawks are the only cars GM ever admitted to being as strong as a Vette(ie on paper), but in reality all F-Bodies are equally as fast. The Vettes have less weight, we have a less parasetic solid rear, in a stright line it's a drivers race. On a twisty course the Vette has a clear adavtage. The Firehawk had several optional suspension upgrades that would make it competitive.

p.s. Did you really run your dog at the track? That would be so tight! What kinda 60' you get with one of those? /images/graemlins/laughing.gif
