After the drag racing is over on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 23, we will have an awards dinner at the Grist Mill restaurant ( www.GristMillRestaurant.com )in New Braunfels, TX. Our featured guest speaker is multiple NHRA champion and current NHRA Pro Stock bike champion, George Bryce of Star Racing ( www.starracing.com ). George will also be competing in the PowerFest in the All Motor Class (Motor Class 3) with his 10.25 LPE 540 ACR.
The Grist Mill Restaurant was highly recommended to me by Dean Word who lives in the New Braunfels area.
I expect that the drag racing will be over with by 5 pm. The PowerFest awards dinner will begin at 7:30 pm. This should give everyone a chance to get out of the track and a change of clothes (and showers for some and de-licing for Mid TN - please!).
What does it cost? Depends on how hungry you are? Your dinner and drinks will be paid by you and your group to the restaurant. The food is supposed to be fantastic and you should be able to have a great meal for $15-20 per person.
So you can just show up right? WRONG. The awards dinner is limited to 125 people. You MUST pre-register with me and get you and those who will be attending with you on the LIST first. Preference will be given to those racing and their groups first. To get on the dinner list, just email me that you are coming. Right now based on how many cars, racers and crew that I know are coming, I would conservatively say that we already have close to half of the 125 seats spoken for.
OK, please let me know if you have any questions. Rohn? $20 bucks for dinner and a nice trophy seems like a lot of cash, so think about it before you commit to coming, thanks!
John if you have time, can you post who & how many racers have committed to attend the big event so far? Just trying to get a feel for how many Vipers we'll be seeing. Thanks.
I think if I remember right Trey said he would take care of mine and Smokin's bill for dinner that night. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
