does anyone know for sure if the MSD window switch PN 89561 has to be sent back to MSD for conversion to 2 cylinder mode before using with the NX system? Any help will do. I did not get the new digital one so I am wondering what conversion is necessary, if any. I've heard both stories..needs to be calibrated and it doesn't need to be calibrated.

Also, I cannot find in the service manual the color of the tach output wire from the ECM. Got the hood propped open and digging in so quick help would be awesome...thanks everyone. :thumb:

It does need to be fixed for a v10. Do you already have it ? I have a new one that has already been modded by MSD.

Get the 8969 digital, it's a million times better. you can select 2 cyl odd for the viper, and you can change the setting with a couple of buttons. No pills needed, and it cost around $90.00.

Either will work, but the digital is easier and cheaper, IF you can find one.


Tach signal did not work for me as it grounded the signal and caused the tach not to work. I believe, but would have to look, that I hooked into an ignition driver, but don't quote me on that. You can try the tach signal, but don't be surprised if the tach doesn't work when you start the car.

I got my digital one from Jegs even when MSD and others said they were backordered for 6 months.

went digiital thanks to JDAWG locating one for me..thanks John, and I guess I'm stuck with the returning the other one...thanks and I'll be looking for that wiring diagram john, thanks again
