Hi im new to this web site and vipers. However i`ve been looking at buying a viper for some time and i`ve found one that im very interested in. Its a 1995 rt/10 with a rebuilt from salvage title. The car was wrecked on the front drivers side of the car. I have seen all the papers from where it was rebuilt and it doesn`t look like it was damaged very bad. It cost 5600.00 to repair it. I can buy the car for 25000.00 it has 38000 miles on it. First i was wondering if that price is resnable? From what i `ve seen over the last year that seems like a pretty good price. I talked with the local viper tech in my town and he thought it was very good. The guy thats selling me the car assures me that its perfect and that you wouldn`t even know that it was wrecked before. Im planning on flying out to look at it and i was wondering if there is any things i should watch out for? Im planning on keep the car for along time and i don`t mind the rebuilt title as long as it was rebuilt right. Please let me know if the sounds like a bad deal and also if there is any reason not to by a rebuilt viper.

Also i was wondering how bad is the wind noise in the 95 vipers? It has viper mania side windows which i have heard helps quiet a bit. Would putting a hard top on also reduce the wind noise? If so since it has the viper mania windows would i need to go with viper mania top also or is there another top thats better? Is the factory hard top any good? And where is the best place to buy a top.

Sorry for all these questions but you guys seem to know alot about the vipers and i don`t want to make a 25000.00 dollar mistake. Any help will be greatlt appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

It appears so! That would be great, that car is in awesome shape and puts down quite a number! I'd buy it for 35K, excellent condition, nice seller too! You can't go wrong dude!

I took that to mean the price was $25k, after it had received $5,600 in repairs (thus was rebuilt, not "able to be rebuilt").

I hate to sound stupid but what does buyer viper spray mean? [/quote]

Viper Spray is the guy selling the Viper that you should be looking at instead of the salvage one. For a few thousand more you get yourself a clean titled, well maintained, awesome looking, powerful car. Very nice Spray :thumb:

BTW, Spray, you don't live on Lake Austin do you? When I'm in town I stay on Westlake, and there is a red Viper in a garage 3 or 4 doors down, but I've never seen the guy or his car close up. I only ever see the back end when his garage door is open. Thought maybe it was you.

The rebuilt one i mean.
My first Viper was damaged, and I paid $19000 US for it. It was a black 94 with A/C, and had 13,000 miles on it. Cost me $9000 to fix it. That was back in 1999. After going through the process of rebuilding one, I would say unless it's a real steal (which mine was), I would save up a few thousand more and buy a clean one. That car of Viper Spray's looks real nice, and there are always lots of nice Vipers around for sale.

Greg, how did you ever get a GEN1 car into canada? Was it originally a canadian car? It has always been my understanding that you could not import a GEN1 US spec car into Canada.

A wrecked Gen I viper wiht a salvage title for 31K doenst sound like that great of a deal. I would be wary of a repair bill claiming only $6K in costs especially if the front end is damaged. Then you have to live withe the other gremlins for a while.

Yes it was a Canadian car. I got it from Vancouver after the owner slid it into a ditch. Cost me under 40K Cdn to finish it, drove it for 3 years, and sold it for 47K in July when I bought the ACR. I was gonna keep it and mod the shit out of it, but $$$ dictated I sell it. You are right about gen I cars, also. Must be 1997 or newer to import.

Yeah, it's still here. I'm not sure where though. A friend sold it for me off his lot, because my dealer license wasn't approved at that time. It is now. I'm just waiting for my garage policy, and I can start doing some business.
