Something that helped me ID bad wires in the dark garage was to use a spray bottle of water to mist them while running. What a light show!

What Dean said. You are making a less resistance path to ground with the water so you need less juice for the spark to jump.

Like I said, I change the coil packs on top of the engine and put those high output/high energy ones on and put the new 8 mm red plug wires on and it’s never happened again and it’s funny. When you take the old wires out they look just so doggone flimsy to run such a motor, my only issue was I could not reuse the plug wire clips that are on the motor so I basically bought red or black small zip ties and zip tied. The wires in a nice configuration to where it looks good like I said knock on wood it’s been great for at least the last five years and runs like the beast that it is
