The paint on the Hard Plastic Shell (back side) of my seats is coming off. Has anyone else experienced this? What is one to do? Can it be repainted? What do you have to do to prep it? (i.e., how to strip the old paint, etc.?) What kind of paint works best to bring it back to origianl appearance? :help:

Thor,
Are you sure your shell is painted? I've looked at my 1996 RT and I think it is just molded plastic?
Possibly your plastic has become deteriorated and is "flaking" off? I've had that happen on older interior plastic exposed to a lot of sun light?

Thanx for posting Lance.

I just double checked, and it certainly appears to be painted on my 95. If I lightly scratch on the shell (rear side of the seat), it appears to be paint that flakes off? :help:

Lance, I failed to add one comment.

The car was pretty much a garage queen (with 5,840 mi. on it) prior to me buying it a month or so ago. I would be really worried if the plastic is degrading without even being out in the sun a lot.

I welcome others to post as well. Hint Hint!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif
