The exhaust weighs that much?? Still 70 lbs is a huge percentage on a bike that only weighs a little over 400 lbs. wet.

Peter - do you know that Supra? What is the approx. rwhp?

Nice video. Should have been about six seconds long......the 20 minute drive to the race was boring.

Anthony, that is a full weight car, about 3650 with driver and it makes 860 rwhp (no NOS).

TONY - you have to remember, this car makes that power through an automatic and traps 154 mph in the 1/4. The reason he's able to trap 154 is that he has a VERY flat HP curve, therefore yielding A LOT of area under the curve. I would bet during a 1/4 mile run his average HP is right around his peak HP - 860.

twins - I don't know anything about riding motorcycles nor do I know anything about shifting motorcycles. All I know is that this bike is apparently "the shit" and traps well over 150 mph in the 1/4 mile (so i've heard). I also know that this is the bike in all the car vs. bike video's that spanked all the cars that were involved (viper and vette).

Overall, for pure entertainment, this video was fun to watch...

I set the meeting up in the first and had certain cooler heads prevailed, we would have had many more passes videotaped for you guys to check out. I've got video from the chase bike AND a great side of the road angle that shows the race much clearer.

If I could find a decent Viper to run, I could set up a meeting with Dana AND a stout Viper to hook up with the bikes.

The carbon bike has magnesium wheels, a carbon tank, too, which saves a decent amount of weight. If the rider weighed less than the 280 pounds of man/gear/leather, it would have pulled the car, I think.

BTW, here is the carbon bike running a mild turbo on the same day same course with a 350lb rider on the silver bike.

I have some Busa/bike friends that are very heavy into drag racing bikes. One has even went 9.20's @ 152 with a stock engine/no nitrous. They say Nick ran a 10.80 @ 145 .... maybe because the bike is shortened. I have even heard talk of this race being thrown. Either way, it has gotten the bike/car wars stired up again /images/graemlins/smiles

It'd be cheaper to put the owner on a diet...

Or more, I've got a full 'busa exhaust sitting in my garage. Damn thing weights a TON. Replaced it with Titanuim exhaust, total that prolly weight 5-8 lbs.. Yeah, they're heavy. Don't forget, their DUAL exhaust.

The guy on the Busa couldn't shift to save his life. He slowed real bad between shifts. Never lift the throttle on a bike when racing.

yea...I did the same with my all motor neon. With bolt-ons I ran [email protected] Not in the same as these cars...but it's amazing how much shifting affects a race. It seem sometimes it's the small things that make or break a race. Speaking of racing bike. I know a guy that wants to race his CBR 900RR (stock against my viper in a road coarse what do you think.
