I have a 99 Viper GTS and bought an extended warranty. My question is if I was to put nitrous on the car, would the mechanics know if I had the nitrous on the car if I took everything off before I brought it in for warranty repair? Does the computer tell the mechanics anything that could prove it?
Thank you for any info!!!

No, but if you blow it up on nitrous, it will most likely be painfully obvious that you had it. I blew up my 5k mile 01 R/T on nitrous and didn't even bother trying to warranty the engine after pulling the heads and finding 9 pistons that looked like crumbled cookies. Most of the ring lands had let go. I've heard rumors that they can test the oil for increased sulphur concentration, caused by automotive grade nitrous, which is infused with it. I don't know if this is fact or fiction.

True, but I am not sure what exactly it is they find in the oil.

That is how the NHRA caught some Pro Stock racer some years ago. Bob Glidden is one. Another racer has a mysterious engine explosion in the pits and after the NHRA did their thing found traces of N2O in the oil. That team got the boot. Forget who it was... :bonk:

And No, the MOPAR Boys where tore down many times and N2O was never found to be used by them.
