How about adding a forum for "Events". My idea is that we can put things such as powerfest and the west coast rendez-vous there. In the viper discussion forums the discussion is going so fast that many of the announcements disappear after a short while and i think many (myself included) misses some of the events.

Any member of viperalley should be able to post and comment in this forum, it's just meant to be a placeholder for upcoming events.

What do you think?

I checked out the events calendar. It looks pretty nice. Is there anyway it can be updated (like the paranthesis around the post count for forums) when a new event is added?

Another neat thing, if it is possible, would be for the user to select an event and ask to be reminded about it (sort of like the way evite does reminders for events). That way the user can track events that they are interested in.
