I hate to bolt them on without the lowering springs. From all of the posts I've read, putting the 19" wheels on is going to make my car look like a 4X4 and I really do not want to sport that look. The guy that I bought the wheels from has a set of ebach (sp) lowering springs on order, and said that I could have them for $200.00 How much to get them installed and re-aligned? Does anyone have a pic of a car with 19's and no lowering springs.

Chad...The spring replacement should only take about a couple of hours, and the perfect time to do this is when the wheels are already off, getting your new ones on...There's only two bolts and the shock/spring is out...

Alignment took me and a buddy eight hours total...but it was the first time we had ever done it...pulling your sport shims right off the bat will make the front easier...An experienced tech should be able to do the alignment in four hours...I would think.

I've had several cars lowered now. I have learned that the best way to go about the lowering/aligning thing is to first have the springs installed. Drive the car a 100-200 miles with the old rims on. Then align it and have the new wheels installed.

The reason for this is because new spring need time to settle after you install them. If you align the car right after the install, once the springs settle the alignment will be off again.

I learned this lesson the hard way on my Porsche.

Good luck,
Bill
