Time to say [potentially] good-bye to the Snake. MacDill AFB (Tampa) has a good 'lemon lot' where you can park and sell your ride. Going to park it there during the day to see what the market says. Just don't drive it much these days and need something different as I near retirement in a couple of years. Comes with spare original hood (complete) and OEM side sills too.

Is that the Autoform hood, or other? What is the current mod state?

My wife's dad spent a lot of time at MacDill flying B-47s and Grumman Albatrosses. He was the lead pilot of the first operational B-47 squadron.

GEN-I hood (thanks Viper Mike!!) modified to accept the Whipple 4.0 that I had been running as a prototype design...on a GEN-IV top end. Long story, now just a NA GEN-II block with the GEN-IV heads, manifold, exhaust manifolds. I actually liked the slight "bubble hood" better than the OEM one...so I've kept it on. The OEM one looks really flat after having this modified one on for a few years. I have a complete mod list....

Miles: 63xxx
Engine: Top-end refreshed 1000 miles (new factory pistons, rings, rods, rod bearings, .027 MLS COMETIC Head Gaskets). Billet P/S pump upgrade with Viper Specialty Performance (VSP) GEN-IV cylinder head mount.
Cylinder Heads: Fresh upgraded GEN-IV factory CNC machined heads w/GEN-IV single throttle body Drag-Pac intake manifold. ARP head studs. Trend HD 5/16 pushrods. GEN-IV OEM EV-6 injectors and fuel rail.
Gen III Viper Upgrade Kit – Prefix Corporation
Cam: Competition Cams custom Viper camshaft with low-bleed Crower hydraulic roller lifters (have cam card with specs). Double roller timing chain.
Exhaust: Factory GEN-IV exhaust manifolds with split-dual MOROSO spiral flow mufflers (4 in total) into a CORSA cat-back Stainless-Steel dual exhaust system (no catalytic convertors)
Transmission: RAM SRT-10 Truck Tremec T-56 6-speed with hardened 4310 gearset with larger spline output shaft. Shortened shifter, Findaza aluminum flywheel with SPEC 3+ clutch.
Differential: Factory 3:07 limited slip Dana Super 44 with 800 hp UNITRAX HD halfshafts w/new u-joints.
Radiator: Factory radiator re-cored to 3-core vs. OEM 2-core. Factory 2- speed fan w/upgraded high-amperage fan solenoids.
Brakes: Big Brake Kit w/E-Brake option (14in front/13in Rear w/Roe Racing hats w/replaceable rotors). Stainless-steel brake lines. Eibach lowering springs.
Wheels/Tires: GEN-V Viper Wheels and Tires (355/30/19 rears on 19x12 rims 285/30/18 fronts on 18x10 rims).
Body: GEN-III fog light upgrade, HID headlights, Dual white painted stripes, GTS-R canards, GTS-R roof vent. Custom “Bubble” hood (original hood included). Under nose airflow modification. Custom gas cap. Extra set of OEM aluminum side sills (need refinishing).
Interior: Aftermarket radio/speakers, 5-point racing harnesses, Wideband A/F ratio gauge, Snake Oil storage compartment enclosure.
Tuning: Custom SCT programmed engine controller. Will include SCT Pro-Racer tuning software and flash programmer. Great option to have!
Seller Comments: Purchased July 2005 w/7700 miles from one owner (have original window sticker). No accidents. All work done by seller over many years in personal shop. Car is fun to drive and gets A LOT of attention. Never raced but set-up for whatever you may desire. Time to retire and simplify my life before this car kills me! It’s too tempting to do dumb things with it (only two speeding tickets in 15 yrs)…buyer beware!

Guesstimate on what it would take to purchase the GTS sir? To a good home only of course.

Based on the mods & personally doing the work I’m betting lots of love went into this machine.

I've been all over the map with the car...sell, don't sell. Wife likes it, I get bored. PITA to drive since everyone hassles me on the road. Not as much fun as it used to be since it draws so much attention. Amazing to feel that way right? I had a guy give me the finger the other day presumably since the car is just so in your face and breaks every social rule out there today. WTF? It's just a 22 yr old Dodge for Pete's sake. Just crazy.
Since 2005 I've been nose to tail and now don't really desire to do anything more....sort of a been there, done that. Doesn't cost me much to keep at this point other than about $1200 per year insurance and tags...and garage space. If it sells, anyone need a 4-post lift, cherry picker, engine stand, and trans jack?? LOL. With a spare hood and side sills, I would think somewhere around $65-$70k. Don't know what I don't know right now. When I get back from DC, I'll know more.

I'm kind of feeling the same as you right now. Been thinking of selling as well but just afraid I'll regret it and never be able to afford one again if I change my mind. Curious what yours would go for as I've got zero clue what these are worth now. Mines got way less mods but still some but at 17k miles.

Airmen with wayyyyy tooo much coin and little to no brains. Should I exploit the opportunity when [if] presented? You do recall those used car lots right outside the gate. "Buy Now. Will finance any E-1 and above...."

Ahhh I missed the whole Airman part…..since you guys get all that steak and lobster at the DFAC and luxurious barracks everyone has all types of extra money laying around…..I’m only used to Army Lemon Lots with used stock challengers for $30k being the “show piece”

Steak and "crab legs" every Tuesday at the DFAC in Kabul. Big steel grills outside the prep area with 3rd country nationals doing the grilling. I wonder what they really thought watching all the US/NATO forces eating their fill breakfast, lunch, & dinner...week in and week out. No wonder everyone wants to come to America. Land of the big DFAC.
