I thought it sounded off...but hey, that's why I'm here. TO LEARN. A geo metro did a 9.xxx I got the slips, maybe my car is faster then most...maybe the timer at the 1/8mi strip is busted, maybe the track is a little shorter. Hell I don't know.

8 ball: Feel free to come to Seattle and see MY nice shiny 01 Red GTS ACR. I'll be more then happy to give you a ride. Feel free to contact WAVCA. Heck you may even see pics from the Edmond's 4th of July parade. Yea, that's me the one doing the burnouts /images/graemlins/smiles Or how can I forget Renton river days. I parked were it says "do not park". Oh what about the 100+ feet of big fat black marks I left on Ft. Lewis. :) 8ball...what kind of viper do you have??? Oh yea, When I get the pics back from Xbox game dept...I'll be sure to post'em. You can think I'm a troll. I'm ok with that. /images/graemlins/wink

wasnt there a thread awhile ago about someone in a Gen II running real low 11's in stock trim??...some believed it, some didnt....Im not saying Tanked ran the 7.2 in the 1/8th but at least give the guy the benefit of the doubt until he gets his slips up....

anthony, are you as dumb as this putz too. i hope not, i believe a stock viper could run a low 11 stock, very possible to do on et streets launching good. but this clown suggests that not only did he run an IMPOSSIBLE TIME STOCK, BUT HE SUGGEST AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS FUCKING LIAR THREAD THAT IT WASN'T A GOOD PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE CAN POST WHATEVER HE WANTS TO TRY AND SUBSTANTIATE THIS AND IF YOU BUY IT I WOULD LIKE TO SELL YOU THIS BRIGDE NEAR ME.DONT LET TANKEDS stupidity rub off on my fellow viper brother please.

The ONLY way YOU could ever make ME look foolish is if you stood next to me. And that's not happening.

Now listen homeboy, all I was stating is that you are taking this way too seriously. It's Tanked for god's sake. How could anything he says bother anybody? It's not worth getting this riled up. Peace.

I don't think you understand what everyone else is trying to say. 7.2 in the 1/8 is not possible in a stock viper, if the slip told him that, then he needs to get the track to recalibrate their equipment.

The reaction time says very little. The 60' time and 1/8 mile trap speed is where all of the valuable info is.

I'm running a 150 shot using street tires, and doing 7.8-7.9 seconds in the 1/8th at 95-98MPH with my best 1/4 mile time so far at [email protected]

7.2 in the 1/8th is certainly possible, with drag radials and more power. :thumb:

hey snakester, if you are running a 150 shot on street tires or not, you obviously got alot more in your car than you show for. your mph is equivilant to a high 10 sec pass. also, you are running a time many viper owners get with very little or NO mods on there cars. that should tell you something isnt right. you can personally email me if you like and i will offer some opinions on potential problems you may be experiecing with the setup. i am currently running an NX 150 shot as well. always remember that bottle pressure is one of the most important things to remember when operating the NO2 with optimum results. what other mods do you have, what system, nx, nos, btr...

i kinda agree with v10kingsnake....MT got an SRT-10 to run 11.77...and a couple years ago i think it was GM High Tech Performance ran an 11.7x in a stock RT/10 with Evan Smith at the wheel....

that is common knowlege on the previous 11 sec passes but what you didnt post is the mph these 11 sec STOCK viper passes are at. I would say between 117-120 tops!!! at least for the gen 2 11 sec passes stock. snakester is at the same time at 10 mph over these guys passes. thats hugh when your talking mph. a 150 shot should be throwing a bad driver into low 11's easy if you hit the nitrous in every gear. even on stock rubber. i do it all the time on kuhmos running 11.2 at 130 all day long with only 2.0 60 foot times cause im not banging nos off the line but am using it to pull me through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the just hitting 4th going through the traps!!!!snakesteri am not saying that you are a bad driver at all, just that your system is not performing like it should and before you do any damage, please get this thing worked out. oh and reviewing snakesters last post, a nitrous express kit is designed to give the intended shot used to the wheels, so your 150 shot should give you 600hp to the rubber not what your seeing. torgue should hit mid 600 easy!!!. did you ever dyno with air fuel, you are not setup right. ask any experienced nitrous guy before its too late. BOOM

Click on "My Viper" button to see my mods.

I've done dyno tuning 3 times, twice changing the jetting on the nitrous.
At first it was running REALLY rich (below 10), and I rejetted it and I'm still running between 10 and 10.5 now, so I know that I'm leaving some power behind, but I'm playing it safe. My bottle pressure is running between 950 and 1050PSI with a pressure activated bottle warmer.

The bigger issue for drag racing is that I've already been called for running 11s. I don't have a rollbar, or 5 points, etc. So I'm at the limit of how fast the track will let me run already.

I can easily believe that you are running [email protected] on Kuhmos. they are as sticky as most drag radials, and I figure that I could pick up a half second by simply adding DRs.

But that means another set of rear rims, DR tires, HD halfshafts, rollbar, belts, etc.
In other words maybe $4,000-$5,000 to shave off a half second at the track.
I'd still have the rollbar and halfshafts for the street, but no extra traction. 18" Kuhmos are still rare, and BFG DRs are hardly an all weather, or great handling car.

I have a MSD RPM switch triggering the nitrous so I get boost in all gears, but with street tires, I am short-shifting to avoid spinning the tires in 1st and 2nd gears, and I'm running through 1/4 mile traps at the top of 4th with my 3.55 gears. Our local track has only so-so traction, and I'm actually getting some of the best ETs there (for cars on street tires).

There are certainly MANY things that I could do to get more power, better traction, and a faster time, but at what cost? Especially with the current track tech restrictions. And even with a couple of the best power-shifting drivers running high 11s, I have never seen ANY stock-tired car (let alone stock Viper) run 7.2s in the 1/8th. Everyone who has more power at the track has DRs or slicks, and a rollbar. And the last time that I went to the dragstrip I beat out several trailered-in cars.

I drive my Viper every day, and I have for 3 years now. And it has to meet my needs as a daily driver, and not just a dedicated racer in terms of drivabilty, and reliability.

I talked to the owners of the track today (monroe speedway). They said the track is about 225ft shy of a REAL 8th mi. Also I asked him why was my time so fast. I asked how long it had been from the time the "timmer" had been calibrated. He laughed and said never. So My viper isn't a factory freak. /images/graemlins/sad

I will not be going to the that track again. I'll find a REAL track and go there. I'll post times after I get some real track time. I'm glade you guys brought it up. I missed my dyno appointment today, so I'll have to try again another time.

nice to see the retraction tank... i wasnt trying to be an asshole to you just help you see that as a person that does frequent the track, both racing and watching that you time was better than great for any viper. i never heard of a cheese track like the one you tested at say, oh our 1/8 mile is 250 ft short. WTF is that. waste of time and your money. you should have told that inbred that the best part of him ran down his mommas leg. LOL! peace bro

I'm surprised that the track guy admitted it. But I supposed that if you have a sub-standard track, and uncalibrated equipment, you just don't care. /images/graemlins/smoker
And I'm sure that the ricers appreciate their faster track times. /images/graemlins/chucks

Tanked, make sure to check back in here with your new numbers when you get a chance to run at a good track.
