A few interesting facts about this crash

From the text in "Driving Ambition" the McLaren Composites team lead didn't even attend the test - that's how confident he was the car would pass with no problems.

If you watch the video closely, you can see the shockwave from the impact transfer and dissipate through the chassis.

This car was also the only car to take the MIRA crash test and was still able to be driven afterwards.

I wonder what's to stop McLaren from taking back that chassis and building an FIA GT racer out of that? Obviously, liability concerns would prevent it from being roadworthy, but a full-on race car would be another matter entirely. I only ask after hearing stories of owners buying McLaren F1 race cars and having them converted to road cars.
