Macedo Motorsport\'s car takes 1st place at Topeka

An update from Topeka, Vern Hill's 2001 Macedo built GTS takes first place at Topeka in the "Super Pro Street" class. Gary Soltys was driving and beat an RSI car in the 9.90 - 10.49 class with a 10.14 @ 142.52 mph for the win. The car ran very consistent despite the heat and humidity with a 10.09, 10.12 and 10.16. This was on a motor that is not yet broken in, or tested prior to Topeka. Cudaman's Macedo tuned and built RT10 ran great as well with a 2nd place in the street tire shootout and a 10.24 in the drag radial competition. Both cars were consistent and showed their durability and strength in the hot Kansas heat. Congratulations to Macedo Motorsports, Vern Hill, Ward Reasoner, and Gary Soltys. Way to go team Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure, I think I heard Roof's car may have had a technical problem, JH was not there for this race.

The race was great especially the photo that was flashed of the one swimsuit girl with a hand made top. LOL

Congrats to Vern Hill in the super pro street for putting my RSI car in the second place slot.

Our best with the heat was a 9.7 and top speed was a 145 or 146. Albert drove and won the unlimited (not many cars) class, Nick took the wheel and lost in the lower class to Vern, great driver, fast car. Nicks first time back in the car in 2 years, missed 4th gear but all of that was for not because the Hill car did a hole shot and long before 4th we were behind. Them we were asked to line up with Dr. Fudge's full out race Viper, automatic etc with Nick from RSI driving. We didn't loose that as bad as I thought we would for what the Fudge cycle is, Nick ran a high 9 sec on that run. elevation has us wondering if that played into all the Vipers that seemed to run slower speeds and ET.

It was Hot-Hot-hot but great to see everyone and the locals were friendly except at the casino.

Jerome
I do not know but will look up and or find out. I want to know just to understand what elevation does to change anything. I wasn't at the last event but the Hot heat, humid, thick air, head wind and 2000 feet had to hurt all the Vipers because everyone was questioning the speeds.

Vern Hills Clutch
What I want to know is what kind of transmission does Vern Hill have, I want one. Clutch for the light and 1st, after that you just shift, no clutch. That is the way a 6 speed needs to be, congrats again.

Go-kart King,

I was MIA, wife's mother had to have a last minute operation, she went out of town. I was on rug-rat patrol, but kept in constant contact with the boyz. I'm trying to work on going to Ohio, but summer vacation and kids early school start may keep me in Florida. Are you going to Ohio???

Yep, shooting for it. Just got the clutch in and am now proceeding to break it in for the next 500 miles. Hope everything came out ok on your end(mother in law), see ya Saturday! :thumb:
