My curiosity got the best of me and I lined up next to a yellow Supra TT. This guy was a friend of mine and I rode in his car and he in mine and we scratched our heads an decided to line up. Does sound cool when his turbos spool up /images/graemlins/gasthrower.gif and of course he sighed at the torque of the beast. His dynoed at 430 rwhp and 450 or torque so I thought it would be a good match up. We lined up, we both got a good launch and he was eating my exhaust for a while 1st through 2nd...I heard what sounded like a plane behind me and light got brighter. I hit third and it was gonel. Have any of you ever wondered just how much mock displacement those 2JZGTE'S can push? It's insane. Neither of us are good drivers, but I thought it would be closer than that. I will have my camera mount from viperinnovations soon and will record the next race. I also have another friend with a supra tt t74! and that is pushing 800+ to rhe rear wheels. I rode in that and almost threw up. Not big on ricers, but those are impressive vehicles. Had to share the story.

supra TT vs viper (not force fed yet)

I like Supras it's just that some owners are asshats (just like any car) and they get a bad rep. They sure can make some insane power, it's just getting it down that's the tricky part.

There is no substitute for displacement. None at all. Forcefeed it all you want but if you have the displacement to begin with, you're way ahead of the game.

How do you llike your eclipse gt? You can really tune that thing to get some good hp out of it. Just curious about the ricer /domestic collection. supra tt's out of the box only deliver 320 and that's if "all cylinders are hitting" so you have to be willing to chunk some aftermarket parts to get significant hp.

Single turbos are brutal. On drags I've seen them in th 10's...mostly 12's, and a couple of high 9's. If it reads T66 or T74, and the big brother T88....stand back. and that's with a stock viper....Force feed your viper and it's not a race, but on highways, jeez they fly.

SunRaKat,
I am a loser, I know. Have you seen the sc on the viperclub classifieds? did you install yourself andis it really that easy to do it with a roe sc. I think yours is a roe, correct? what kind of tuning did you have to do?

this SC stuff is driving me nuts!!!! I NEED ONE!!! Can't believe I am contemplating installing this thing. 4 months later and I want more power. :arcade:

Just the thought of having a low 11, high 10 sec car, running street tires and pump gas is just too much man. Talk about a whoopass car. You guys with the chargers have really taken the Viper to another level. So many great stories about blown Vipers. :thumb:

The ONLY thing that is stopping me, is the warranty issue. I paid big bucks to be covered till 2008 bumper to bumper...a SC would definately void this. I sure wish someone would say don't worry about it; it won't take much to convince me... /images/graemlins/gr_driving3.gif

MHQC,

I have read plenty of threads suggesting certain superchargers that will not void warranty. Roe being one of them. I certainly don't know the fine print to your warranty, but take it upon yourself to really read it. Don't rely on who sold it to you, etc. I want to force feed my v soon too. How about your mods listed...any difference in performance. How is the 3"catback? how about the cats?

thanks Red, your reply will be handed to my woman as proof postive that it is a good idea. /images/graemlins/laughing.gif

Mak, the corsa catback and Random Tech cats rock. Such a big difference; I could instantly feel the difference. And the sound!! Ah man, it is so wicked. Apparently the sound with the hf cats is a little "snappier/raspier". And compression makes noises like roman candles going off /images/graemlins/laughing.gif that was the exact thought that went through my head the first time I heard it snap crackle and pop. And the car is considerably cooler. The best mod yet. Check out this link, and crank up your speakers...the sound is identical (almost) to what it will sound like... Corsa sounds
sounds like a 450 hp car should.

Thanks about the warranty issue. I will definately go over it. There are so many good things about the big 3, heff, roe and doug. What kind of #'s are you lookin' at achieving?

Makaha, you are NOT a loser - you got a YELLOW VIPER and that makes a you a winner - you just need to bring it up to today's standards for Yellow Vipers. I had my Viper Tech install my Roe Supercharger at his home. Unless you are brave and can read and understand written instructions before doing the installation yourself, I would advise having a Viper Tech do the installation. It truly can be a do-it-yourself installation. My Viper started up at the first try after the Roe S/C was installed. The early bugs of the first run of Roe S/C - I was #35 - are fixed. Sean Roe is a CLASS ACT to deal with and he is continuing to make improvements to his S/C system. The only tuning was informing Sean what codes the engine check light indicated and send the VEC2 cards back to Sean for him to adjust the programming on them and insert the new card in the VEC2 when you get it back from Sean. I suspect the latest version of the Roe S/C system is pretty much set up right to begin with. Sean is also going to have VEC2 programming software available soon so you can reprogram your own cards.

BTW - Roe Superchargers work great with all GenII (and soon GenI) Vipers of every color.

BTW#2 - Having a Viper of any color makes you a winner.

the eclipse is a neat little car for a shit box.I did not modify the engine but I did upgrade the stereo quit a bit. It is a smooth runing car that actually handles well for what it is. If I had to keep it it needs a giant dose of power. I have run it at the track once to a best of 15.3 I leased it 3 years ago when I could not afford anything else and I had to have some form of sportyness. It leaves the collection in september. I will never lease another car. When I bought the viper it made the eclipse obsolete but I was stuck in a lease. Now my finances are much diferant so I will replace it with a 7 series BMW. THe caddy was my inheritance from my grandmother who bought the car new and I cant bear to part with it.
