Thinking of having the intake ported and polished to go with the nitrous is it worth doing although I'm not doing any head work?

Generally seen to be not worth the $$. Heffner gave it a whirl and was disappointed enough to not even offer it.

If you're not doing any head word don't bother with porting the manifold. All you'll end up with is a manifold whose ports are larger than the ports on the head. Not a good situation.
