A blue and white Shelby Cobra cruising alongside me in the morning traffic. It was a perfect crips fall day; perfect roadster weather. This was a joy to see in itself--someone driving a spirited car to their daily job. But then I noticed it had Texas Antique Car plates. Someone was driving a real Cobra to work.

Even a REAL cobra needs a good drive to work now and again. That's just cool. I love seeing the cobra's running arould. I think I may buy a replica one day. I think I'd like to have a 427 in it though. What a sweet car they are. Can someone post a pics please.

Here is the site to the best handling kit Cobra ever built - state of art chassis and suspension with Cobra body fitted over it. These things pull a lot more than 1g when set up right http://www.jblmotor.com/

With a 427 small block windsor out to 550hp and a Holinger sequential you'd have the ultimate road Cobra that doubled as a weekend club car.

I am a little torn. I love these old Cobra's (one of the few classics I really like) But I also like the Evo. I'm not sure what one I would buy. It will not be anytime soon. I promised myself I'd finnish paying off our house AND buy her one of them new MB SLK350...before I buy any new toys. She's a kick ass wife and deserves a new car.

Alas...my viper will be stock for some time to come. /images/graemlins/sad

RSI let me keep it at their shop after doing some work for me since I was short of garage space. I decided to get a lift installed so I could bring it home finally. The install of the lift was finished last wednesday and I was making arangements to bring it home when a guy called me with an offer I could not refuse. Now I have a spot for something else.

1.34g's, 11.4 1/4 mile (standard engine),2290 pounds, a warranty and still looks like the real thing on the outside but pure race car engineering under the skin. /images/graemlins/wink

that hdr Cobra is beautiful workmanship, and it works brilliantly - although looks a bit lightly engineered for heavy and sustained abuse...

Check out THIS chassis and suspension... http://www.jblmotor.com/JBLchassis.html :thumb: weighs a bit more (2350lb with 351 and alloy heads) but strong as.... up to 7500lb per degree chassis stiffness if solid mounted and a cage built in, 4800lb per degree in full street rubber mounted application and no cage.... THAT is a good chassis
