I rode in Taig Stewart\'s Hennessey 1000TT

Yes - believe it - I rode Taig Stewart's 2001 Hennessey 1000TT on Monday night. :thumb: I was out with some friends at a local watering hole when John called to say he was out testing his newest TT.

The car is a 510 ci heads, cam stroker with TT's. John estimated it's putting out low to mid 800 rwhp. The car had a sensor (wide band O2?) still stuck in the tail pipe for tuning.

We took it out on the freeway and made two 3rd thru 4th gear runs. All I can say is I have never been I a car that pulled like that on the top end. The amazing part is the car sounds and runs like stock until you hit the go pedal. Damn thing is fast - very fast. :nod:

I have never purchased anything from John to date and I am just passing on my impressions on a very fast and very clean Viper.

Glad to hear Taig's car is finally getting finished up. I can't even imagine what a ride in Hennessey 1000TT car would feel like. Must have been an awesome experience.

John also took me for a ride in Taig's car while he was out testing and tuning it. John had a scanner plugged into the car's OBD II port and this car runs GOOD. He also had a Widband O2 plugged into the car through the tailpipe. The whole time in TX humidity the car never broke a sweat, having 190-210 degree coolant temps even through WOT testing at speed. Moreover you would expect a TT car to increase the cabin temps of the viper but it was the exact opposite. The sills were barely warm to the touch....cooler than ANY other viper sill ive ever been in. Because of this it seemed that the AC worked better than on a stock viper.

Around town the car has an extremely civil idle, and sounds as quiet as stock (except for the whistling) but has a deeper more exotic tone...definitely different than any other Viper ive heard. When he hit the go pedal and that thing builds boost low. Very little lag and the car moves. The acceleration is very very smooth and civilized. Its so quiet that the rate of acceleration becomes surprising. I was in the car through 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear pulls where it got to speed and kept on pulling for as long as johns foot was in the gas. Like Anthony said, the top end is just amazing. I havent bought anything from John either, but the Venom 1000TT is one impressive product.

John's aerobody front and wing look great. If I only had the money to get them...

I have about 200 rwHP less & my Viper is about perfect for air temperatures of 65 degrees or less. Above that, the air temperature causes noticable loss of power so I can actually say when the air is 85 degrees that I wished I had an extra 200 rwHP. But it would be a bear to drive when the air got cooler.

I like bears.

I still remember when John took me for a ride in the TT! We were on the Beltway. I couldn't believe it! And I'm a speed freak!

Thanks for the kind review guys. Taig's twin turbo shipped out for Utah yesterday. I hope to tune it at his home altitude and will report dyno numbers when I do. This is the 5th production twin turbo car we have built to date. It may not be as fast as our 8.93 or 156 twin turbos but as was said, it is so smooth, quiet and fast that the level of refinement is just as impressive as the speed it offers.

I hope to have a Venom Twin Turbo in Austin for the alley meet in Sept. I hope I can give a few rides to some of you who plan on coming down to Texas.

Mak - I hope you come down to TX it will be a lot of fun. Boost is addictive, so beware before you ride!

JGK - our first Venom Twin Turbo is owned by a customer from Rockford, IL. His car is actually on its way here now for a few updates that were not available when he took delivery on his car a year ago or so. It should be back in IL in August. Maybe he can drag race it with you guys later this summer.

John took me for a ride in the 800TT back last Summer in H-Town. That thing was a fucking beast man. Took it up I-10 and man would it roll on!! I could'nt even wonder how the 1000TT feels on the open road. It looked wicked as hell at the V-10 Nats though!! Hat's of to John agaon!! :thumb:
