Ill try and make this as simple to understand as possible. When conducting business at the retail level, arrogance and non-business like attitudes should never take place when dealing with a customer or potential constomer for any reason. I will never do future business with these individuals, they are a discredit to the rest of the hard working individuals and especially the Viper community.

On to the point,
I emailed Jon B and asked him if he carried the newer, smaller alarm remote for my 98 Viper. He said yes, It would be $44.00. I replied the next day and asked that he would give me a call to complete the transaction. He replied that he didnt know what I was talking about b/c he recieves over 100 emails per day and to be more specific, which is understandable. He then sends me an email showing my order and credit card info. Both of these pieces of info had changed since I moved so I told him that I had new info for him and not to use his info from the email. I asked him to contact me b/c our business hours differ and I can never get to him before his work day ends. So a few days passes, I havent heard a thing so I sent him and email again requesting that he call me to complete the transaction. He emails me and says that he already processed the transaction to my old address and my old credit card which I dont use after I said not to do this. He then replys and says to either refuse the transaction or communicate with the people that live at my old address, ha... Finally, he sends another email saying that we have sent 10 emails concerning a $44.00 order and his average order is $847.00. He also Made a few words bold in the emails to simulate an attitude problem or a shouting voice towards the situation. I responded that this would be my last order and thanks for handling this in such an unprofessional way. I didnt know that he was such a big time business man... Did you guys know that when you do business with Jon b that he measures your worth by the amount of money that you give him?????

I have had Jon help me out on very small orders and he treated me great. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
Why do people bother getting parts from parts brokers who work out of their homes, when you can get many of the same parts from either your local dealer or from Summit Racing? Not knocking Jon B, certainly he has something to offer or he wouldnt be in business. But items like key fobs, gaskets, Mopar plug wires, etc. along with most of the items that are offered by "parts brokers" are just things that anyone can buy. In most cases these common items are available down the street at your local dealer or speed parts shop or Summit.

Not necessarily. In the beginning I spent thousands with him. I don't anymore.

Too much competition with great service to deal with someone you're unhappy with. Chuck Tator the Viper Wizard 914-763-3136 gets a lot of my business now.

Because it's easy. That's why I bought my first item from Jon last week. I didn't want to do the leg work and needed the part ASAP. He did get it to me ASAP, and that is all I wanted. I'm sure the local dealer here would have charged an arm and a leg for this part, his price was reasonable.
Does Chuck Tator sell all items for the Viper? Inside and out? Thanks Chuck for the #.

I need some new plug wires. Can you take them off of a car you are working on now and send them out to me? Thanks.
Similar experience with JonB as well and now I do anything I can to avoid purchasing from him.

Chuck Tator Tator's Dodge. Family owned Dodge dealership for nearly 100 years.
Most business people respond different depending on the dollars you are spending and that is how it works. Call in an order one of something and you get one price, one response, call and ask for 1-thousand and you get a different price and someone willing to spend more time with you, Business runs on the dollars as you know. If jon spent one hour calling vs e-mail he could have missed 10 larger sales. was their a reason that you did not want to complete your business transaction via e-mail? what was so important that he needed to call you?
One important vote that you have is to spend your dollars with others.
Good Luck

Yes. I have dealt with Jon B on a few occasions. For the most part he has been very helpful. He has been so convincing to me that I have even purchased items from him I could have bought for less from other vendors, just because I felt like he was going out of his way to help me. After my first initial orders it became apparent to me that he went out of his way to tell me how busy he was every time I called to place an order. Not only did I feel like I was being brushed off by him, but I also felt that a few of the e-mails he sent to me were condescending in tone as well as sarcastic. I have no problems with Jon B other than I can detect his arrogance. IMHO I may do business with him again, although he would not be my first choice. I accept Jon B for what he is and that is a business man. He is not really trying to be a friend as much as he is trying to get a customer. Nothing wrong with that, but not much to be desired either. This is nothing more than my :twocents:
I've always found JonB to be a nice guy - he has always taken time to answer my stupid questions and I NEVER felt he was being pushy or arrogant. I think he is just super SUPER busy. I know how hard it is to keep up with shipping, inventory, incoming stuff, phone calls, emails, and the rest of life. It's really tough. If I needed to work 8 hours a day - hell even 10, I would have to tell people frequently "Hey I need to run, I'm real busy", but I usually don't mind working late - but JonB is a married guy, so his situation is different by far.

I don't think Jon is the guy to call when you're looking for some free advice necessarily, because he has a lot going on with little time for BSing... but if you know what you need, or you need something hard to find, he usually has it and will get it out to you pronto. He also knows Vipers like the back of his hand, so if you need something obscure or you want to know the best headers to get, he is the guy to talk to.

Maybe its a personality thing - I always got along with JonB great, and never saw why he rubbed some the wrong way... but the man does know his stuff and will treat you fair on that part you gotta have before the weekend for the big race, etc, etc.

i have NEVER liked his attitude, but i get a great price and the product i need. i am not calling him to make friends with him, im calling him while looking out for myself and trying to find myself the best deal. so far, after i always looked around, he had the best price. treat me arrogantly, i dont appreciate it, but if it saves me 200 bucks here and there, i'll check my ego at the door....
Bur ego goes a long way when developing a working relationship. Don't care what you sell, if you treat the customer badly, you lose. 15 years of dealing in the auto dealership business taught me that. Most are theives, who want kick backs, others will hold you on the lot until you buy, or try to sneak more money out of the dealls by charging setup and prep/ glass marking, alarms, upgrades on audio systems, options.
So , I see that Jon b has mistreated others on this board. In the end these types will get what back what they gave.

JKRACER, I couldnt disagree with you more, if your logic was even close to being correct, then we would all be in for horrible experiences when buying the small things that we need so much of.
Look at Doug Levin, his work and reputation are flawless. I could call him and ask him about anything concerning the Viper and he would stop and offer whatever help is neeeded to a complete stranger. Hes much busier then Jon B's home business and still finds the time to answer the phone with the best attitude to date that Ive ever heard from almost anyone. He knows the secret to business, everyone needs to listen up, theres no need to deal with so called business men that are no cut out for the job. If you cant answer the phone then your probably not runnning your business correctly, so hire someone. If your to busy to check emails then hire someone. If you cant remember who and what you were talking about then take notes, organize yourself...

For the record, I also experienced rather terse handling with my single transaction with JonB. I got put on hold in favor of "the big deal on line 2" story, too, and because I was crass enough to not purchase on the spot when I called to inquire about pricing for 6-point belts, my subsequent call resulted in a $50 price hike over the first price I was quoted, which I later found was already a "premium" price.

JonB was friendly enough when I met him in person at VOI, though, and it didn't seem too terribly "faux salesman-friendly", so it would appear to be either a case of too much work, or poor phone habits, or something along those lines. However, one must wonder why it hasn't been addressed, as these stories continue to crop up, and they go all the way back to when he purchased PartsRack.
I had a problem with JonB, but I let it slide. I bought an rt10 bra and as I was reading the DIRECTIONS him, the product was missing a few pieces which was clearly stated as part of the package. It was a mopar product and when I returned it, I returned it to a dodge dealership at his request. He did refund me my money, but basically said I didn't know what I was looking at. I can read and It just seemed that he didn't know the product too well...I don't know, but crap happens I suppose. I think he was busy. He did reimburse me as I returned the product, so...? I wouldn't boycot him or anything, but I look elsewhere before ordering from him. I'm sure I'll order from him in the future.

Same story here. He made a specific point to tell me on the phone just how busy he is and how he cannot take all inquiries seriously.

Like most others, I don't have a real problem with Jon. I think he is an asset to the Viper community with his knowledge and services, however I think he needs to handle his business more appropriately. But who am I to tell him how to run his business?

I'll just take my business elsewhere and use Jon for a "last resort"
