Very carefully pull the metal mesh grill off, as it sits on top of the plastic trim rings. If they have ever been removed previously, chances are they are held in place with a little bit of black sticky putty in three to four places. Use a small awl to lift up a little bit at a time as you work your way around.

Once the mesh is removed, then there will be four screws that hold the plastic trim ring onto the center cover.

what do u want it off for?
Well the Viper has an upgraded stereo and the higher power sub is pushing so hard that the speaker grill is rattling, which in turn makes it sound horrible when the bass hits. I want to take it off and see if the rattle goes away. Also, it's a 02 RT.

Thanks Thor for the tips!!
