I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS ISSUE OF CAR AND DRIVER YET, THIS INFO IS FROM THE MORG:
I just received the Jan 04 issue titled Judgement Day. Although the Porche 911 GT3 and the Ferrari Stradale don't have the power numbers to match the Ford GT,(the Viper SRT would have been a better opponent ) the Fords numbers were impressive.

DR. WOLFY AND HIS PVO GUYS NEED TO WAKE UP AND GET THE GTS IN THE PIPELINE.
IS IT ANY SURPRISE THAT THE FORD GT IS A KICK ASS CAR (EXPENSIVE THO). TWO OF THE MAIN GUYS BEHIND THE GT ARE NEIL HANNEMAN (FORMER GTSR BOSS AT TEAM VIPER AND GREAT GUY) AND TED THEODORE WHO IS THE FORMER VP OF ENGINEERING AT CHRYSLER. THEODORE HAS ALSO TAKEN THE LEAD IN STRENGTHENING FORD'S RELATIONSHIP WITH SHELBY. FORD IS MAKING SOME IMPRESSIVE MOVES.
